Fun & GamesLearn about the lives and pastimes of nineteenth century boys and girls. Scouts will create and take home a pioneer toy. Takes place at the Museum at the Gateway Arch.

Plains Indians Explore the culture of the Plains Indians. Learn about their dependence on the buffalo, what they ate, what they wore, and how they had fun. Includes a create and take home activity. Takes place at the Museum at the Gateway Arch.

Law Merit Badge (Gateway Arch)

Investigate the judicial system and its important role in our society. Scouts reenact trials and debate historic and contemporary issues in the shadow of the Old Courthouse. 60 max.

Railroading Merit Badge (Amtrak Train)

Full day workshop that allows scouts to travel aboard Amtrak from St. Louis, Missouri to Springfield, Illinois accompanied by staff members from Gateway Arch National Park. 25 max. (fee required)

American Heritage (Gateway Arch & Riverboats at the Gateway Arch)

Explore the history of St. Louis and learn about the important role this river city played in the development of our nation. Afterward, take a cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch and experience the river firsthand. A presentation will take place at the Museum at the Gateway Arch and Riverboats at the Gateway Arch. The workshop is free and the fee for the riverboat cruise is listed in the pricing section below.

Due to space availability, no email or voicemail reservations will be accepted for any scout programs or workshops. Make your reservations early. Call-in reservations for the Railroading program in March begin Monday, October 7, 2019. Call-in reservations for spring and summer programs begin Monday, January 6, 2020.

Reservations for Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts and Webelos are taken year round. Approximately 50 minutes in length, each program highlights a different, age-appropriate theme. A one-month advance reservation is required. Minimum of six scouts required (max 30). Groups with less than the minimum may be placed with another group, if available.

The Resource Stewardship Scout Ranger ProgramScouts of all ages can participate in educational and/or volunteer service projects at national park sites where they can explore the parks and learn more about protecting our natural and cultural resources. Scouts receive participation certificates and/or patches. Contact Gateway Arch National Park staff for more information at (314) 655-1635.

What does it take to be a hero? National Park Service rangers will introduce you to some famous and not-so-famous heroes that have made a difference in our community, country, and world. Fulfills requirements 2, 3, and 4. Takes place at the Museum at the Gateway Arch.

Learn about the history and culture of the Osage Indians of the woodland areas of the Mississippi Valley at the Museum at the Gateway Arch. Fulfills requirements 1, 2, and 4.
