learning without frontiers 2011, london- iphone 3gs as as data collection tool
DESCRIPTION
This was my presentation at Learning Without Frontiers, Jan 2011, London. It was around the use of mobile technologies as mobile methods of data collection - my focus was upon the iPhone 3GS to collect ethnographic data on mobile learning on field trips. This lead to a collaborative paper, which was published later in the year which included further cases of mobile device use in research including the use of iPads. How can you help me?
1. Have you used the IPhone (or another device in a similar way)? If so, what experiences can you share?
2. Do you know of any research closely related to this?Or…Know of any useful references for digital ethnography & visual methods I should look up?
3. Can you suggest any Apps you have found useful for research?
4. Can you comment on any issues around using this device as a tool for research which I have not considered?
