What is Psychological Type ? A theory of personality developed by Carl G. Jung to explain the
normal differences between healthy people. ( 1940’s)
Differences in behaviour result from people’s inborn tendencies to use their minds in different ways.
The natural preferred way of using one’s mind and directing energy
Jung believed our main task is to discover and fulfill our deep-innate potential
Type is not about skills, intelligence, abilities or technical expertise
WHY MBTI ? Awareness of
- Personal style
- Individual strengths
- Potential areas for development
Improves:
- Impact on others
- Understanding & resolving conflict with others
- Matching task assignments to preferences
- Communication - A common language to help surface issues
- Valuing different perspectives
- Working together
