As of February 18, 2020, Rockwell Automation is delaying the discontinuation date for 7”, 10”, 12” and 15” PanelView™ Plus 6 terminals by one year. The new discontinue date for these PanelView Plus 6 terminals is 09/30/2021*.

Rockwell Automation offers two product families you can migrate your operator terminals to, the PanelView™ 5000 family (PanelView 5510 and 5310) or the PanelView™ Plus 7 family (Performance and Standard). The preferred migration path is:

· PanelView Plus 6 migrate to PanelView 5510 or PanelView Plus 7 Performance

· PanelView Plus 6 Compact migrate to PanelView 5310 or PanelView Plus 7 Standard

If you are developing a new application, we recommend migrating to the PanelView 5000 product family. The PanelView 5000 family of graphic terminals offers an intuitive, modern design and provides enhanced Logix integration that uses Studio 5000 View Designer® software (compared to FactoryTalk® View Machine Edition with the PanelView Plus 6 and 7) at a lower price point than the PanelView Plus products.

For situations where you want to reuse your existing PanelView Plus 6 / FactoryTalk® View Machine Edition applications, we recommend migrating to the PanelView Plus 7 family. Similar to the PanelView Plus 6, the PanelView Plus 7 offers newer hardware with better resolution, additional memory, Device Level Ring networking capabilities, larger options for widescreen display and increased ease of installation.

When migrating to PanelView 5000 or PanelView Plus 7, there are a few hardware differences to take into account including:

· The panel cutout for a PanelView Plus 6 and PanelView 5000/PanelView Plus 7 may not be an exact match. Review the PanelView Plus 6 Terminals to PanelView Plus 7 Terminals Migration Guide and product user manuals to see a comparison of panel cutout sizes. Adaptor kits are available for the PanelView 5510 and PanelView Plus 7 Performance product so the terminal can be installed without modifying the existing panel cutout. · The PanelView Plus 7 display resolution is greater than the PanelView Plus 6 display resolution on all sizes except for the 7” and 15” terminals. A quick update to your application will allow you to take advantage of the increased resolution of the PanelView Plus 7. · The PanelView 5000 and PanelView Plus 7 products are only available with Ethernet communication. A USB to serial adaptor cable is available that will allow you to use serial communications with the PanelView Plus 7 product. The catalog number for this adaptor cable is:

· 9300-USBCBL-CP3 – For use with PLC-5®, SLC™, CompactLogix™, & ControlLogix®

· 9300-USBCBL-PMO2 – For use with MicroLogix™
