EDITORIALFirst and foremost, Club goers, don’t forget Thursday 19th March, a very special show at Thurmaston PWMC (see advert for more details). I see Leicester is to be in the global news again towards the end of this month, ie. the final resting place of King Richard lll, he will lie in repose from 23rd - 25th March in Leicester Cathedral then reburied on 26th March, so the press will have a field day. Talking of field, I believe there will be a special service at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.Back to the clubs etc. What a surprise I got at the last showcase at Eyres Monsell, one of the acts being Kimika a first class musical comedy show duo. I had the pleasure of working Nick and Tina at the Spinney Hill WMC when the club had their centenary week of entertainment; they have worked in many countries in the world, including cruises etc., they were also on ‘Pot Of Gold’ TV show in the 90sf which they won, and now after fame and fortune they are back on home soil, which is great. I’m sure most

clubs will be booking them into their venue; if you don’t have their contact number ring me. Talking of grass roots it was good to see that Sam Bailey had 2 great shows at De Mont as did Collabro a sell out show. Let’s hope maybe Sam, may do a few clubs in the future?? (more chance of winning Lotto !?! you never know!) Last month we were struggling to get 20 pages for the mag, so I have been out and about and got a few new adverts, and maybe more to follow. Look at the advert for Glenfield Travel. A great weekend of comedy etc., in Weston Super Mare and at great value!! I’ve seen most of the acts and they are 1st class. Ent. Secs. at the meeting at Eyres Monsell (loved the bacon butties) were Braunstone District, South Wigston WMC, South Wigston Cons, Lutterworth, Monsell , Latimer, Sileby, Pool; Thurmaston PWMC and Braunstone Vic.All April Club News material to be with me by 7th March please. Andy McGowan as Mrs. BrownWhat a fantastic night we had on Sileby Lib on January 24th! As soon as Andy came out on stage you knew you were in for a great night of entertainment. He’s a brilliant sax player and has a good voice too! Songs from Bakers Street to Madness, Thehere was something for everyone with most eras covered keeping most entertained from start to finish - and not forgetting his Mrs. Brown tribute! A complete package for any venue, thanks for a great night Andy!

Unfortunately I was too busy to see any entertainment over the Christmasmas period. 2014 ended with sad news for the clubs with the deaths of Graham (Index) and Dr Pesky. Unfortunately for myself personally 2015 started with the sad news that my brother Terry passed away on the 4th January aged 59. He was known to many artistes around Leicester and in the clubs. He was born in 1955 with Downs Syndrome and lived at home with Mum and Dad until about 7 years ago when it was decided with regret that Dad could no longer care for Terry, as he was caring for Mum as her health got worse and Terry was placed into a care home. Terry loved singing along with the artistes and would often be seen up dancing. He was a regular with my parents at Aylestone and District WMC. West End WMC and mainly at what was the Wigston RBL (now The Elms). Terry's health deteriorated rapidly and in the latter years he had Dementia which took effect and in his final years he was a shell and not the funny and lovely brother I knew and loved. He will be greatly missed by many. Lisa
