DISCLAIMER

• During this training, I will be going over a variety of websites that are used here at Leitch and that can be used at home as well. However, how each website is used varies by teacher. For more information about specific classroom usage of each website, please check with your child’s teacher.

• As we use IPads here at Leitch, when we indicate there is an app, it refers to an IOS app (for IPads).

• We do not control these websites and sometimes things happen that may be out of our control.

GOOGLE APPS AND GOOGLE CLASSROOM

• May be called GAFE (Google Apps for Education)

• All students have an account (Grades K – 12)

• Many of the user names and passwords for other websites are based on this log in information.

• While the user name may look like an email address, there isn’t an email account connected to it.

• Google Apps provide online access to word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. This allows work to be started in class and then continued at home.

• Google Apps are introduced at Leitch so that the students are familiar with it when the move on to Warm Springs.

• The 3rd grade students are already using Google Apps in the computer lab. The 2nd grade students will tentatively be introduced to it in the Spring.
