    HUMAN BRAIN

Brain is the master control of the nervoussystem that sends messages to the organism soit can respond properly to different stimuli inthe environment. It is protected by a bonystructure called Skull or cranium.

Brain enables us to see, hear, smell, feel andtaste. It is the seat of all thoughts, emotions,

imagination and intelligence. It enables us toperform all conscious and subconscious task;to experience all unconscious acts.

3 MAJOR PARTS OF THE BRAIN

    The CEREBRUM

    - which is just Latin for"brain" -- is the newest

(evolutionarily) andlargest part of the brainas a whole. It is here thatthings like perception,

    imagination, thought,judgement, center ofemotion, consciousness,learning & voluntary

    CEREBELLUM

    - means little brain. A

major structure of thehindbrain that is located

    near the brainstem. This

part of the brain isresponsible for a number

    of functions including

motor skills such asbalance, coordination &

    many activities including

    sports & athletics.

    BRAINSTEM

    - The lower extension

of the brain where itconnects to the spinalcord. Neurological

functions located inthe brainstem includethose necessary forsurvival (breathing,

    digestion, heart,diaphragm &esophagus.
