Laila’s Daily Routine

My sister Laila is a loans officer at the Union National Bank and she has a busy daily

routine.

Laila gets up at 6:30 am every morning and prepares breakfast for her family. Then she

takes her children to school at 7:45 am. After that, she goes to work. She works from 9 am to

1 pm. At 1 pm she drives home. Then she makes some food and eats lunch with her children

until 2 pm. After lunch, Laila reads the newspaper, talks and plays with her children, or she

rests. Later, between 5 pm and 6 pm, she helps her children with their homework. Next, she

prepares the evening meal for her family. Her husband comes home at 7:30 pm and then

they all eat dinner together. After dinner they relax for an hour and watch TV or sit in the

garden and talk. Laila always puts her children to bed at 9:00 pm. Finally she goes to bed

at 10:00 pm.

Laila is always busy but she enjoys her work and the time she spends with her family.

First, at 6:30, she’s wake up, then, at 6:50 a.m., she take a shower and she

get dressed, After that, she has breakfast the canteen with her friends. And she

packs a bag for the university. She catchs a bus from Twam hostel campus at 8:00.

Next, from 8:50 and 10:50, she want to Business Economic class. From 11:30 and

2:00, she met with her Supervisor in the Student Services’ office. Sometimes, she

write reports, she advise Foundation students.

From 2:15 to 2:40p.m., Mona has lunch at Gloria Jeans or Bon Foods with

her best friend, and at 2:50, she attends a Corporate Communications class. At

4:50 p.m., she takes a bus and returns to the hostel.

Between 5:30 - 6:30, Mona does exercises in the gym or spends time with

his friends. From 7:00 to 8:00, she relaxs in the hostel. For example, sometimes

she watch TV, or she read a book, or she wrote poetry. Then, at 8:00 p.m., she

Reading and Writing: a schedule for a friend Your friend is a university student who has classes from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm every day. He / She is not getting good grades and is always tired. Read the paragraph and make a daily schedule for him / her.

The Ideal Daily Routine

Students should have a regular schedule of academic work, rest, meals, and exercise. A

daily schedule helps to maintain a regular routine, which also helps to develop time management

skills. Too many student waste too much time, and then complain that they “don’t have enough

time” to do all their tasks! A student should get up early enough to prepare for the day’s routine.

There should be time to wash, pray, eat breakfast, and to pack the necessary books and papers

without rushing. Waking up late and panicking causes stress, and usually the student also forgets

to take some important book, paper or homework assignment to class.

Driving fast to get to class on time causes more stress, and can of course be dangerous.

Most students do not take healthy snacks to campus; during their short breaks they quickly eat a

chocolate or a packet of chips, which further contributes to an unhealthy lifestyle. Many students

do not eat breakfast, and prefer to chat or to use their mobile phones or laptop computers during

breaks rather than to eat or drink something. These students cannot pay attention in class, and as

the day continues they become more and more tired and cannot take in any information.

When students get home, they should eat something healthy and rest for an hour or two.

Sport or physical exercise is an excellent way of strengthening the body, so an hour’s exercise per

day is advisable. Not more than four hours per day should be spent on homework tasks and

studying. Too many students spend their evening hours on the internet or playing computer

games, and then find that they have no time to study. Dinner should be eaten with the family;

many people today do not spend much time with their family members, which can lead to

unhappiness in the home. After dinner there should be some time to relax and / or to do some
