Allow you to find references to journal articles, conference proceedings, technical reports, etc

Not usually full-text databases, but often you can link directly out to papers you want to read

Support very precise and/or complex searching; other features can include download of results in reference formats, weekly alerts to new content, etc


Bibliographic databases for Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Engineering Village 2. Includes:Compendex - c.7 million records covering all aspects of Engineering from 1970.Inspec - IEE database covering physics, electronics, computing and control from 1969.

ISI Web of Knowledge. Includes:ISI Science Citation Index - general science database with over 17 million records. Covers 1945 onwards.ISI Proceedings - multidisciplinary index to conferences, workshops, symposia etc. 4 million records, 1990-date.
