Scripture: I Timothy 6:5-11

• Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

• But godliness with contentment is great gain.

• For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

• And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

• But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

• For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

• But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Biggest Blessing – Eternal life

• God’s biggest blessing (Eph Ch 1)o V4 He had chosen us before the foundation of the world

o V5 predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ

o V6 he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

o V7 we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins

o V11 we have obtained an inheritance

Be Content • 1Ti 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is

great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

• Contentment is learned, not born.(Php 4:11 )

• Contentment = I can cope with it and not control by it. (Php 4:12 )

• Contentment = knowing what is ‘want’ and what is ‘need’ (Heb 13:5)

• Contentment doesn’t preclude drive. (2Pet 1:8)

assurance • Money can buy a passport to

everywhere but heaven
