As a result of advances in medical care, average life expectancy is increasing for men and women. Do you think most people will see this as a positive development? What are the disadvantages of an ageing population for individuals and society? Support your point of view with reasons and/or examples from your own experience or observations. Ans) With the advances in medical care the average life expectancy of the world has definately increased as compared to the last century. Average expected life expectancy in the developed countries is way higher as compared to developing countries. The developed country is able to feed with adequate resources for survival, which is difficult in developing countries. Extra ordinary health system and advanced sanitary systems are the major factors leading to long life expectancy in the developed countries. This is helping many people, who want their near ones to be alive with them to the maximum possible time. There are exceptions; people whose long life has put them into sufferings can adapt euthanasia if legal in their country. However, this is putting extra burden on the government to take care of the senior citizens. It is increasing the world population as well. This leads to higher average age of that country, which means the higher responsibility of the Goverment of that country. It will hamper the success and growth rate of that economy as majority would be mature people who cannot work. I believe it is helping the most of the world as a whole. Advance
