■ The school fees cover twelve calendar months and may be

paidinmonthlyinstallmentorinadvance.Noreductionis

made for holidays or broken periods. Students are liable to

bechargedfullfeesaslongastheirnamesareofficiallyonthe

rolls.Feesoncepaidwillnotberefunded.

■ The fees, if paid monthly, must be paid on or before the due

date,failingwhichalatefeeof15/-willbelevieduptothe

endofthemonth,thereafter20/-permonthcumulativelyup

to the end of the school year. Due dates are clearly indicated

in the School diary.

■ Pupilswhosefeesarelongoverduemaybebarredfrom

sittingforanexaminationandareliabletohavetheirnames

struck off the rolls.

■ Feesfortheholidaymonthsmustbepaidinadvancebefore

the school closes. All dues must be paid before the school

year ends.

■ The school reserves the right to increase the fees at any

time of the year if an increment is considered necessary. 5%

annual increase in the tuition fee is normal.

■ After taking the admission if one wants to

leave the studies, from the date of notice,

sixmonth’sfeeshouldbepaidbeforethe

documents are released.

■ NoCertificatewillbeissueduntilalldues

to the school have been cleared. The

student will have to return the school

library books, school diary, Library card,

School Identity and get a clearance note

■ Students whose attendence is irregular,

who do not pay their fees, who are

habitually late or absent, lazy or

disobedient, whose conduct is injurious

to the moral tone of the school, whose

behavior in school and outside school

is incompatible with strict discipline of

the school or whose sickness is liable to

be injurious to other students may be

dismissed.

SCHOOL HOURS

■ Every student must wear a clean, complete and correct uniform daily.

Uniform is compulsory for all school activities, both Curricular and Co-

curricular.

■ The uniform will be as follows: sky blue shirt with half-sleeves, long grey pants

withpleats,plainblackleathershoesanddarksocks.Forwinter,plainlight

grey pullover(for those who wish use warm clothes). Uniform materials must

be purchased from the Institute to ensure uniformity of shade.

■ Whenever the complete or correct uniform cannot be worn, permission to

attend school must be obtained on the Regularity Record under “Uniform”.

SCHOOLUNIFORMS

■ Promotionattheendoftheyearwillbebasedon

attendance, continuous Assessment in every subject

and work done during the year. A student who fails to

procure the required Sessional marks will be debarred

from appearing for the All India Trade Test.

■ ForstudentswhoareabsentforanyAssessment/

weekly tests, no provision can be made for

supplementary tests.

■ Failuretoappearatanyassessmentcanseriouslyaffect

astudent’saccademicprogressandpromotion.

■ Breach of any of the regulations of conduct at

examinationsofindisciplineinoroutsidethehallorthe

use of unfair means, even if discovered subsequently,

will merit thecancellation of the particular paper and the

student concerned will be awarded a zero.

■ A student who has made arrangements to obtain unfair

help in connection with the question papers from any

persons or any agency is laible to have his result in the

examinaitoncancelledasawhole.Candidateswho

Assessments & Promotion

are detected giving or obtaining, or attempting to give or

obtain, unfair assistance or who are otherwise detected

in any dishonestly whatsoever will be debarred from the

examination.

■ A student guilty of disorderly conduct or responsible for

causinganykindofdisturbanceinorneartheexamination

room is liable to be refused admission to subsequent

papers.

■ Astudentisnotexpectedtohaveinhispossessionany

book,notesorpaperswhatsoeverduringtheexamination.

■ Thereisnoarrangementfor“re-examination”or

“promotion on trial” for failed candidates.

■ A student fails to secure promotion may be asked to join

for short term courses or to leave the school. In no case,

however, will he be allowed to repeat the same class for a

second time.

■ InallquestionsofpromotionorfailurethePrincipal’s

decisionisfinal.

REGULARITY RECORD (Absence, Leave, Delay)

■ Absencefromtheschoolwithoutleaveisnottoleratedexcept

when the cause is sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances in

which case the information must be given at the earliest.

■ After an absence from the class the reasons for the absence must

beenteredbrieflyintheRegularityRecordunder‘Absent’inthe

calendar. Reasons of private nature may be submitted in a letter.

■ Ifanunauthorizedabsencefromschoolexceeds15calendardays,

thestudent’snamemaybestruckofftherolls,andhemaynotbe

readmitted to school.

■ An absence due to illness for two or more days, besides being

entered in the Regularity Record under “Absent” must be

accompaniedbyadoctor’sprescription,certificateandmedical

bills.

■ Leave for religious ceremonies or special occasions must be

obtained beforehand.

■ Leaveofabsenceforreasonsasbirthdays,excursions,festivals,

wedding,timetostudyforanexaminationarenotconsidered

sufficient.

■ Vacationsaregivenin

the school calendar.

■ These holidays may

notbeextended

or anticipated.

Unauthorized leaves

on the last days before

vacation and delays in

retuning to school will

mean re-admission to

the school.

VACATIONS

■ A leave granted must be recorded in the

RegularityRecordunder‘Leave’inthe

calendar.ThismustbesignedbyPrincipal.

■ Early Departure: It is availed when there is

an emergency at home or when a student

gets sick in the school.

■ Incaseastudentfallssick/meetswith

any accident in the school premises he

canbehelpedwithimmediatefirstaid

only. The parents will be informed and are

expectedtocomeandattendimmediately.

It is important to give the correct contact

numbers on time, especially when there is a

change.

■ Late arrival to school is a breach of

discipline. A student who comes late to

school must enter the date and time of

arrival into the Regularity Record under

‘Late’.

■ Fivelatearrivalswillresultinparentsbeing

calledtotheofficeofPrincipal.Tenlatearrivals

will invoke suspension from the school.

■ The school declines all responsibility if through

failure to produce a letter giving reasons for

his absence or delay, a boy is obliged to return

home during school hours.

■ It is mandatory for a student to attend

theschoolonday’smarked“compulsory

attendance”. Defaulters are to seek

readmissiontoschool.Incaseofsickness/

eventualitiesthemattermustbenotifiedtothe

Principalwithrelevantdocumentsonthesame

day.

■ Irregular attendance, ill health, stealing,

disobedience, bad conduct in or out of the

institute or habitual unsatisfactory work will

render a student liable to be dismissed at any

time by the authorities. In such matter, the

Principal’sdecisionisfinal.

■ SchoolDiaryissignedbyPrincipal/VicePrincipalor

his delegate.

■ School begins with the Morning Assembly and

students must be on time for it and be present in the

Assembly Hall. Students go to class in silence from

the assembly according to their classes.

■ Every student must have copy of the School Calendar

and the Daily Record. These should be brought to

the school on every class day. A student will not be

allowed to sit in class without the School Diary. He

will be sent back home.

■ A remark once written in the diary can be cancelled

onlybyPrincipal/VicePrincipal.

■ Every student must possess an identity card issued by

the school. This card must be renewed every year

■ Nostudentwillbeallowedtoleavetheschool

campus during school hours.

■ Students are to address their teachers and all

members of the School Staff with due respect and

politeness. Arrogant and Challenging behaviour

towards teaching or non-teaching staff is not

desired.

■ On their way to and from school students must

behave in a gentlemanly manner with due honour to

the name of the school.

■ Smoking, chewing pan, chewing gum, betel-nut or

tobacco, etc. are strictly forbidden.

■ Students are not allowed to bring fancy items such

as electronic gadgets, cell phones, walkman, digital

diaries, belts with stylish buckles, stylish haircults

are not permitted.

■ Nobooks,periodicals,comics,newspaperorprinted

matter of an objectionable nature, audio cassettes,

video cassettes, CDs and pendrive must be brought

into the school.

■ Students are responsible for their safe custody of

their own books and belongings. Each article should

bemarkedwiththestudent’sname.

Other Rules of Conduct & Discipline

■ Each one is responsible for the tools

and instruments issued to him for

use in the lab or workshop. Any loss

or damage to tools or machines or

property must be made good by the one

concerned.

■ Every student attending school is

obliged to take part in curricular

activities organized by the school.

■ Students must speak only English in

the school campus. Serious steps will

be taken against those found speaking

vernacular in school campus at any

time. This rule is applicable even on

holidays.

■ Parentsretaintheirrightsanddutiesintheeducation

of their children, even though they delegate them in

part, to the school. The support and collaboration of

parents are in all cases considered indispensable for

the success of the work of education carried out by the

school.

■ Parents’PositiveCooperationwiththeschoolis

absolutely essential for the constructive upbringing of

theirson/ward.Theyarestronglyexhortedtodothe

same:

a. By urging their wards to be regular and punctual in

attendance.

b. By checking the School diary on a regular basis.

c. By seeing that their wards are diligent at their

Author of every good. Do not glory in any ability.

■ Give yourself to the practice of virtue while you are young. The

virtues to be cultivated most are modesty (purity), humility,

obedience and kindness.

■ By modesty is meant a proper and decent manner of speaking and

acting. This virtue is one of the best ornaments of your age.

■ Avoid any kind of sin, especially three evils should be particularly

avoided:

b) Impurity in thought, word or deed

silence reviewing your lesson or reading some good

4. When you are asked by a superior regarding the conduct

of some of your companions, answer to the best of your

knowledge especially when it is a matter of preventing or

remedyingsomeevil.Tobesilentwouldnotbebeneficialto

your companion and would be offensive to God. Always avoid

exaggerationandspeaktruthfully.

management of the school. Everyone is perfectly free to

remain or not to remain in the school.

5. Always speak well of your school and of your teachers.

6. Performancesonthestageoftheschoolauditoriumare

permitted for your instruction and entertainment. They

shouldhelptobringoutthefinequalitiesofyourhearts,

and never be an occasion for the least sin.

7. Attendthemcheerfullyandwithgratitudetoyour

8. To enter the auditorium in such a hurry or even to run

the risk of hurting your companions, to try to go ahead

of others in order to secure a better seat, to stand when

you should be seated, to shout, to whistle or hiss, or in

9. Do not ridicule any one for his mistakes or

awkwardness. When the curtain is lowered, applaud

generously but not boisterously.

t. John Bosco (popularly known as Don Bosco)

was born in Italy. He is remembered as a

man who dedicated his life to the service of

abandoned young people. John Bosco created

an order in the Catholic Church, called the

Salesians. He was a great educator, employing

teaching methods based on love rather than

punishment. His method of education is

known as The Preventive System. He believed

education to be a “matter of the heart,” and

said that the students must not only be loved,

but know that they are loved. Don Bosco

Institutions are not mere schools; they are a

family and education here is a way of life. To
