LINES .................>

Page 2: Lines design theory

Here we see line in queue, horizontal and vertical as the globas

masters line up..

Page 3: Lines design theory

Line in all directions creating a full image of a city > Very busy and uneasy.

Page 4: Lines design theory

The main line here is the vertical line pulling it down at the bottom of the image. It gives me a feeling of space and emptiness surrounding the image.

Distinct lines are used all through the drawing.

Page 5: Lines design theory

With this drawing more organic lines

are used, curvilinear, creating distinct

movement. Contrapposto is also present where her hips and shoulders are opposite from

one another.

Page 6: Lines design theory

First glance your eye catches the vertical lines formed by the trees but looking at the cottage you notice geometric lines and lines

running across the ground.

Page 7: Lines design theory

Diagrammatic lines, horizontal, vertical and diagonal. My mind switches off at the sight..

Page 8: Lines design theory

Curvilinear and rectilinear lines.Flowing..

Page 9: Lines design theory

Cleaver play-on-lines... Mind sees skew horizontal lines where as they are perfectly straight.

Page 10: Lines design theory

I almost see a

structure made of

triangles??

Geometric , very straight lines.Repetition.Volume.

Page 11: Lines design theory
Page 12: Lines design theory

Beautiful pic.

Eye follows the curved line made

by the fence.

Creates direction and the

feeling of continuity.

Page 13: Lines design theory

Curvilinear lines, giving feeling of

direction and movement..

Page 14: Lines design theory

Image of the air movement over an aerofoil. Showing direction and lift. Streamline.

Page 15: Lines design theory

Curvilinear building. Looks as though it’s deflating and moving. Irregular .

Page 16: Lines design theory

In this image we see organic and

curvilinear lines once again . There is also some repetition

in vertical and horizontal lines surrounding the windows of the

buildings.

Page 17: Lines design theory

Not only are there horizontal lines separating the grass colours and horizon but also vertical in the grasses.

Just noticed : Birds flying in line..

Page 18: Lines design theory

Vertical and organic lines..

Page 19: Lines design theory

Geometric lines used here. Colour causing certain lines to Project .

Page 20: Lines design theory

Trees form row as well as vertical lines.

Path is curvilinear. Direction is clear here.

Feeling of depth and height...
