Back ground of the Philippine Literature

“Philippine Literature during the EDSA”

- The Literature during the era was completely influence by the Marcos

system of Dictatorship. It was being politicized during the era for the very

reason that Marcos wants to the Filipino people always ignorant, ignorant of all

what is happening around them.

• Silliman University-holds a writing program of all the summer writer workshops together.• University of the Philippines-

who runs a workshops in three regions namely

Ateneo De Manila-who has a post for a writer-in-residence in it’s department of English.

De La Salle Universty-who has also a post for a writer-in-residenceand employs established writers and critics faculty.

University of Santo Tomas-who offers a journalism program for the graduated writers who established themselves in eminent position in the news paper.
