Elizabeth Bennet has grown up in the middle class English
countryside. At a party, she meets the stuffy and snobby
Mr.DarcyElizabeth takes an instant dislike to him. Supported by the
lies of Mr. Wickham, one of Mr. Darcys enemies, Elizabeth believes
him to be a horrible person. Little does she know that he has been
falling for her.
4. Summary
When the lie is revealed, Elizabeth is stunned to see that Mr.
Darcy is not as bad as she thought he was and that he was actually
a good person. Then Mr. Wickham runs away with her sister,
destroying the entire families reputation. Now Elizabeth may never
know how Mr. Darcy feels about her and what might have been.
5. Passage Picker
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in
possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. Opening of
Pride and Prejudice
I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.
Elizabeth Bennett
But that was only when I first knew her, for it is many months
since I have considered her as one of the handsomest women of my
acquaintance. Mr. Darcy about Elizabeth
6. They walked on, without knowing in what direction. There was too
much to be thought, and felt, and said, for attention to any other
objects. Elizabeth and Darcy
You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still
what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and
wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on this
subject for ever. Mr. Darcy to Elizabeth
I cannot fix on the hour, or the look, or the words, which laid the
foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew
that I had begun. Darcy to Elizabeth

9. Connections
This story is about a bad first impression that turns out to be
wrong. When I first met a new girl, I thought that she was really
rude because she didnt talk to me. It turned out that she was
really shy. She became a good friend.
In part of the story, Elizabeth has to take care of Jane who got
really sick. It reminds me of a time that my brother had surgery
and I had to help my mom take care of him. I cared about what
happened to him just like Elizabeth cared about her sister.
10. Connections
Mr. Wickham tells a lot of lies about Mr. Darcy to make Elizabeth
not like him. It reminds me of a time that a girl in my class
started a rumor about my friend so that she wouldnt be liked by
anyone. I knew it wasnt true so I didnt believe it. It hurt my
friends feelings.
The setting of the story takes place in England. I have visited
England and enjoyed going to places that had ballrooms like the
ones in this story.
