From the Tossed Hens - Cream/Red (A), cut:Runner• (1) 16 ½” x 52 ½” strip from the length of fabric (LOF).

From the Stripe - Blue (B), cut:Runner• (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end, with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ½” x 54 ½” strips.• (1) 1 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (2) 1 ½” x 16 ½” strips.Place Mats• (6) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 1 ½” x 20 ½” strips.• (4) 1 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strips into (12) 1 ½” x 12 ½” strips.

From the Patch - Red (C), cut:Runner• (1) 4 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (4) 4 ½” squares. From the Stripe - Red (D), cut:Runner• (5) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.Place Mats• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 2” x 10 ½” strips.• (4) 2” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (12) 2” x 13 ½” strips.

From the Folio - Tan (E), cut:Runner• (2) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (26) 2 ½” squares.Place Mats• (2) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (18) 2 ½” squares.

From the Large Floral - Red (F), cut:Runner• (1) 2 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut strip into (5) 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips.

From the Large Floral - Red (Backing), cut:Runner• (1) 34” x 70” x WOF strip for the backing. Place Mats• (3) 24” x WOF strips. Sub-cut strips into (6) 18” x 24” strips.

Sewing InstructionsRunner1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 16 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 16 ½” x 52 ½” Fabric A strip. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A strip to make the center block (Fig. 1).

2. Sew nine assorted 2 ½” squares and (9) assorted 2 ½’ x 4 ½” strips together end to end to make (1) strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips together lengthwise to make the top border (Fig. 2).

3. Repeat Step 2 to make the bottom border (Fig. 3).

4. Sew (3) assorted 2 ½” squares and (3) assorted 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips together end to end to make (1) strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips together lengthwise to make the left side border (Fig. 4).

5. Repeat Step 4 to make the right side border (Fig. 5).

Runner Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 6 while assembling.)6. Sew the left side and right side borders to the center block.

7. Sew (1) 4 ½” Fabric C square to each end of the top and bottom borders. Sew the resulting strips to the top and bottom of the center block.

8. Layer and quilt as desired.

9. Sew the (5) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric D strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

10. Bind as desired.

Place Mat Top Assembly (Refer to Figure 9 while assembling.)13. Sew (1) strip set to the left side of (1) R-block.

14. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 12 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the R-block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 20 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the R-block to make (1) place mat top (Fig. 9).

15. Repeat Steps 13-14 to make (6) place mat tops total.

16. Layer and quilt as desired.

17. Sew the (12) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric M strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Divide the strip into (6) even length pieces. Fold these strips in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

18. Bind as desired.

Sew (3) 2 ½” Fabric E squares, (3) 2 ½” Fabric G squares, (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric I strip, (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric H strip, (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric O strip, (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip, (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric L strip and (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric K strip together to make (1) strip set (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (6) strip sets total.

12. Sew (1) 2” x 10 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of (1) 10 ½” Fabric R square. Sew (1) 2” x 13 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric R square. Trim the block to measure 12 ½” square to make (1) R-block (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (6) R-blocks total.
