5G, where do standards come in?
• Standardization is at the basis of 5G and has enabled mobile technology to scale faster than any technology in history
• RF EMF compliance of 5G mobile equipment is assessed using standards developed by IEC TC106
• IEC TC106 scope: To prepare international standards on measurement and calculation methods to assess human exposure to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (0 Hz to 300 GHz)
− Not only relevant to mobile technologies (e.g. Wireless Power Transfer)

Assessment of human exposure to electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields
16 subcommittees and / or working groups within IEC TC106
IEC TC106 ACTIVITIES OVERVIEW KEY THEMES
1. Developing new ideas and initiatives in TC106
2. The need for efficiency and speed to market forstandards development
3. Collaboration and fostering new talent in TC106
TC106 is participating in the IEC Young Professionalsdevelopment program.
