Our 4th and 5th grade classrooms have begun the Name That Book Competition. Students have been provided with book lists and are encouraged to read as many of the books as they would

Good Apple Program This year at Live Oaks we have revitalized our Good Apple program!

Students might earn a Good Apple sticker when they exemplify positive character traits such as kindness, respect, teamwork, and attitude. The stickers say, “Ask me WHY I’m a good apple.” The hope is that

students are able to share with peers the amazing things they have done to earn recognition. In addition, each week Mr. Munroe recognizes students who have earned a Good Apple by announcing their

accomplishment over the loud speaker and celebrating their achievements with other good apple winners. So far this year, students have been very proud to show off their stickers and always want to share why they earned them with both adults and peers. We hope that this program will continue to

grow and that all our students earn Good Apple stickers for the amazing work they do every day. Ask me WHY I’m

a Good Apple!

Pennies for Patients School Campaign starts February 26th!

ONLINE GIVING STARTS TODAY! As part of our Pennies for Patients fundraising efforts, we will encourage families to donate online! This is a quick and easy way to support this amazing cause! During the month long fundraising effort, your child will

learn firsthand just how powerful he/she can be in helping others. Through participation in the Student Series' Pennies for Patients Program, students learn about leadership, the importance of helping others and just how

impactful their involvement can be in helping to save lives. During the program, students collect donations from friends and family in honor of local student survivors and current patients. In addition, Live Oaks will hold a

kick-off assembly on Friday, February 23rd to build excitement for the campaign.

Amari (Leukemia Survivor)

Milford Fire Prevention Poster Winner! This past Monday, Milford honored students throughout the district whose Fire

Prevention Posters exemplify Fire Prevention and Fire Safety. Amy Lahav, A fifth grade student from Live Oaks won first place in Milford for her poster (BELOW).

In addition to her recognition from Milford, Amy was also selected as the New Haven County winner. She will be honored at a luncheon on March 22nd in Hartford. Please join

us in congratulating Amy and celebrating the successes of the Live Oaks Community!

Districtwide change in Dates for Trimester 2 and 3 Due to school cancellations, the district has adjusted the close of the 2nd trimester to Wednesday,

March 7. The 3rd trimester will start on Friday, March 9 (3/8 is a PD day).
