STUDENT SCHEDULES: Students can find their schedules using their HAC account information. Information regarding schedules will be available by Friday, August 21. If unable to access your HAC account, all students will be provided with a copy of their class schedule after completing health screening procedures on Monday, August 24.

STUDENT ARRIVALStudents will arrive by bus, private transportation or walking. No student will be allowed on campus prior to 7:30 a.m.

What this will look like:● Bus drivers should wear a face mask at all times on the bus.

● All students are required to wear a face mask/covering.

● Parents may not drop off students before 7:30 a.m. at the front of the LMS building. Students may not be dropped off in the LMS teacher parking lot or in the LMS bus loop at the back of the building.

Students will enter the building via the middle front doors or back doors for immediate screening. Entry-What this will look like:

● Students will get their temperature screened upon entering the building.● Students will not be allowed to go further into the building without getting screened. ● Once screened, students will report to the hallway of their first period class. Between 7:30-7:45

students will sit socially distanced outside their first period classroom.

Dismissal-What this will look like:● Markings will be placed in the dismissal area to help with social distancing.● Students will be dismissed by office/personnel when the bus arrives. Times may vary depending on

bus arrival. ● Car riders and walkers will have a staggered dismissal.

What this will look like:● All visitors will be required to enter through the front office and must bring their own mask to wear.

● All visitors will be screened per ADH guidelines, including having temperature taken and answering required questions. Visitors in the office must maintain a 6 ft. distance from each other. These steps are not required IF checking out a student for immediate departure. After signing out their student, visitors will be asked to wait in the foyer.

● Any visitor failing the screening will not be allowed to enter the building beyond the screening and will be asked to leave the premises.

● If a meeting is required the office must be notified, and a staff member must come to escort the visitor to the meeting.

SafetyThe Lonoke School District is requiring all staff and students to wear face masks. The protocol was developed based on health guidance and what is considered age and developmentally appropriate.Mask Requirements

● Masks and face coverings shall not contain messages that disrupt the learning environment.● Bring mask to school each day.● Keep mask clean.● Wear mask correctly (over the nose and cover the mouth).● Encourage others to be safe

Water Fountains

What this will look like:

● Water fountain spouts will be turned off.● Students can bring CLEAR water bottles from home filled

with only water.● Students may refill their water bottles at the refill stations

located in the center of the building.● Students may also purchase a water bottle from the

cafeteria during Lunch.

Breakfast/Lunch:

What this will look like:

Breakfast will not be served in the cafeteria in the mornings. Grab-N-Go breakfast will be served in the classroom after first period.

Lunch will be served in the cafeteria. Students will be served their lunch and cannot self-serve any food items. Overflow will go to the gym. The cafeteria tables will be disinfected between each designated lunch period.

● Students will sit 2 per table, approximately 6 ft. apart. Overflow will go to the gym.

● Students will stand on the designated markers 6 ft. apart while in line.

Safety

TRANSITIONS/BATHROOMWhat this will look like:

● Scheduled bathroom times will be in place.

● Markings will be placed on the floor to help students with social distancing when transitioning in the hallway.

● Markings will be placed in the halls to keep students to the right

when transitioning.

● Halls will have a clear path of direction; students should travel down the right side of the hall based on the direction of travel at all times.

● All staff will plan for social distancing, hand sanitizing, in the classroom as part of the daily routine.

Communication PlanWhat this will look like:

● If your student is sick, notify the LMS office by 8:30 a.m. via the office number 501-676-6670. Student work for that day will be available in Google Classroom.

● If your child has tested positive for COVID (student will be quarantined) keep your student at home until he/she is released with a doctor’s note. This confidential information must be provided to the school nurse. Daily work during quarantine will be available each day in Google Classroom.

Communication:● School Website, Student School Email, Parent Email, Call-Out

NurseWhat this will look like:

● The nurse will have an isolation room for students who are ill and being sent home.

● The nurse will be available in the nurse’s office for students who are there for medicine or other needs.

What this will look like:Blended Learning On Campus

(Five days a week of in-person instruction)

Attendance procedures will be the same as in previous years. See the handbook for policies/procedures.

In the event that a student is sick/quarantined or school has been temporarily closed:

Attendance may be collected through the use of Google Meet, completion of assignments, or other

communication methods (email, phone call, or Google Classroom check-in).

● Any technology issues will be directed to Mrs. Dewey (LMS Media Specialist).

On-Site/Blended for Traditional Students

Students will receive onsite instruction with as much social distancing as possible and feasible with the number of students present each day. State Standards/Essential standards will continue to be taught throughout courses. Students will be required to wear a facemask in class, during transitions and when social distancing of 6 ft. is not possible.

What this will look like:

● All students will be at school 5 days per week for onsite instruction. Technology will be embedded into lessons.

● Teachers will immediately begin the use of Google Classroom with the students in order to train them in the use of these platforms should school be closed OR we need to restructure for a remote learning format.

● When available, each student will be sent home with a device so that instruction may continue through Google classroom and/or Google meet via uploaded instructional videos.

● Students who receive special services will receive accommodations or interventions through normal procedures when possible. Accommodations/Interventions will occur virtually when necessary.

Jeannie Holt

Although Mrs. Holt did not grow up in Lonoke, she has raised 2 daughters as Lonoke Jackrabbits. She is a grandmother to 3 little munchkins. In her spare time, you might see her riding around town on her pink little bike (sweetly named “Flower” by her granddaughter) or playing her favorite hymns on the piano.

Rosalynd KelleybrewAssistant Principal

Mrs. Kelleybrew began her education career at LPS. She spent 7 years teaching before moving to LES as assistant principal. She made a final home at LMS 8 years ago. She is the mom of a 2006 graduate, Meaghen and a LHS alum herself. Mrs. Kelleybrew is an avid reader and would love to spend more time with her hobby. She loves spending time with her family and taking care of the ones she loves.

Sissy Fletcher

Mrs. Fletcher is LMS’ amazing school counselor. This is her 24th year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found on her bicycle (but not with Ms. Huff, because she doesn’t know how to ride a bike)! Mrs. Fletcher grew up in Lonoke and cherishes the blessing of working here too!

Nikeisha Ramey

Nurse Ramey has been taking care of LMS students since 2017. She is the proud mom of 2 Lonoke Jackrabbits and a Lonoke Jackrabbit alumni herself. When not taking care of EVERYONE at LMS, she can usually be found supporting future rabbits at sporting events.

Virginia Ramirez

Ms. Ramirez has been in our district for 7 years. Before making LMS her home, she spent 3 years as the district’s Migrant Coordinator. She is beginning her 4th year at LMS. She truly is the backbone to our school. She is a Lonoke alumni and has a daughter starting her freshman year at LHS.

Rene Whittenburg

Ms. Whittenburg has been with the LMS team for 2 years. She's not new to us. Prior to working in our building she spent 6 years at LES and 3 years at CORE. Okay….let’s be real….she’s been with Lonoke Schools forever! Ms. Whittenburg is a proud Lonoke alumni. When not greeting our sweet students in the office, Ms. Whittenburg can be found reading in her free time. She especially enjoys reading suspense novels and watching a good scary movie with her children. Fun fact about Ms. Whittenburg, she once met President George Bush, Sr. and First Lady Barbara Bush!

Malcolm Cole

Lieutenant Malcolm Cole an LMS icon. Lt. Cole has been with the Lonoke Police Department for 20 years. He’s spent 17 of them walking the halls of Lonoke Middle School. It’s not uncommon to catch him jumping in to play a few tunes with the LMS band each day. He is a gifted musician with a heart of gold.

Lauryn Mobley

Mrs. Mobley is LMS’ 6th grade Math teacher. She also teaches ENVISION Math. This is her third year at LMS and her third year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found shopping, with her family, watching Hulu, and eating desserts! Mrs. Mobley is so excited to be with her students this year and cannot wait to meet them August 24!

Leanne Lynn

Ms. Lynn is LMS’ 6th grade Science teacher. This is her 7th year at LMS and her 7th year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found at her “home sweet home.” Ms. Lynn is so excited to get to know her students and teach them science this year.

Mrs. Tester is LMS’ 6th grade Social Studies teacher. This is her 22nd year at LMS and her 35th year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found swimming at the lake or pool or at the baseball park! Mrs. Tester loves kids, teaching, and sports!

Kaleigh Huff6th Grade Literacy-ENVISION Literacy

Ms. Huff is LMS’ 6th grade Literacy teacher. She also teaches ENVISION Literacy. This is her third year at LMS and her fifth year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found watching her nephew play baseball, at the lake, or with friends and family! Ms. Huff cannot wait to get to know her students this year and is excited to share this year with them!

Mrs. Screeton is LMS’ 7th grade Math teacher. She also teaches ENVISION Math. This is her 19th year at LMS and her 20th year teaching. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found at the lake! Jessica Woolfolk

Autumn Stuart

Mrs. Stuart is LMS’ 8th grade Math teacher. She also teaches ENVISION Math. This is her 16th year teaching and her 16th year in the district. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found at the gym, at some sports arena somewhere, or walking her two dogs (Leia and Houston). Mrs. Nisbett is LMS’ 8th grade Science teacher. She also teaches ENVISION. This is her 16th year teaching and her 16th year in the district. Sheri Huffer

Mrs. Huffer is LMS’ 8th grade Social Studies teacher. This is her 24th year teaching and her 10th year at LMS! When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found at home cooking! Mrs. Huffer loves dogs, family, cooking, and traveling. She says, “Our experiences make us who we are!”

Amy Lothian

Mrs. Lothian is LMS’ 8th grade Literacy teacher. She is also our ELL teacher. This is her 12th year teaching and her 5th year in the district. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found spending time with her family. Mrs. Lothian cannot wait to meet her students this year!

Valerie Hooten

Mrs. Hooten is LMS’ 8th grade Career Development and Key Coding teacher. This is her 8th year teaching and her 8th year in the district. When she’s not at school teaching, she can be found at home, Wal-Mart, or the track. Mrs. Hooten is ready for a great year with her students!

LeAnn Garren

Ms. Garren is a new face on our campus this year. We are excited that she has joined the LMS team. She is an outside girl at heart and can be found having fun in the sun any chance she gets or reading a book. She’s a busy mom of two that keep her on her toes!

Sara English

Ms. English is one of LMS’ Special Education teachers. This is her FIRST year teaching! When she’s not at school teaching, you can find her going to church and spending time with her family! Ms. English is so excited to be at LMS and can’t wait to have a fun year with her students!

Terri Taylor

David Hixson

Mr. Hixson is LMS’ Band teacher. He has been teaching 14 years and has been at LMS for 11 years. When Mr. Hixson isn’t at school teaching, he can be found spending time with his family. Mr. Hixson likes being an Army musician, playing golf, and duck/dove hunting!

Jeremy Brown

Coach Brown is one of LMS’ PE/health teachers. This is his 4th year teaching and his 4th year at LMS! When he’s not at school teaching, Coach Brown can be found anywhere where basketballs are bouncing, footballs are being thrown, or where there is hot and ready food! Coach Brown is a 2005 graduate of LHS and a 2010 graduate of Lyon College where he was a member of the basketball team!

Lauren Parish

Ms. Parish teaches STEM and 8th grade ENVISION Literacy at LMS! This is her 7th year teaching and her 5th year in the district. When she’s not at school teaching, she is usually found running, with friends, or reading. Ms. Parish says, “I absolutely love my job, and I am your biggest cheerleader! Drew Southerland

Coach Southerland is LMS’ EAST teacher for grades 6-8. This is his 5th year teaching and his 3rd year at LMS! When he’s not at school teaching, Coach Southerland can be found on the golf course, at church, spending time with his family, and yes, he still plays video games! Coach Southerland and his wife are blessed to be expecting a baby due in March 2021!!!

Holly Dewey

Mrs. Dewey has worn many hats in our district before finally hanging it at LMS. She is beginning her 3rd year at LMS and her 28th in education. Mrs. Dewey often says, “I bleed purple!” She is a born and raised Jackrabbit. Her two children are also proud Jackrabbits. When not shelving books in the library, she is doing her homework of reading all the new books. Mrs. Dewey welcomed a new puppy this summer. Be sure and ask her about Tilly-the-Terrible!

Kathy Carson

Ms. Carson is a Special Education teacher at LMS! This is her 19th year teaching and her 19th year in the district. When she’s not at school teaching, she is usually found at home with her fur baby, Jazzy. When it’s summertime with no COVID, you can find her in the water or at the beach. Ms. Carson says, “You have no idea how much we have all missed seeing your faces! I know this year will start out a little different, but we will get through this together. We love you very much and look forward to seeing your sparkling eyes in a couple weeks. Please reach out to me or any other teacher in the building if you have any questions or concerns.
