Log in at: classroom.google.com
Teachers will post their classroom codes on the school Homework website: stbartholomewca.org
To log in to a teacher’s classroom account after log in :
First time log in, click on Use another
account: Most students accounts are
First initial last [email protected]
Password: same as Mathletics log in
(no capital letters on the account
password and no spaces)
For grades N-3 the passwords are
srca1234 (no caps)
THESE ARE THE CLASSROOMS THE
STUDENTS ARE ALREADY ENROLLED

To enroll in a new class, click on the
Plus Sign.
Click Join a class and enter class
code (see SRCA.ORG H.W site)
NOTE: STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO JOIN ALL THE CLASSES CREATED BY DIFFERENT TEACHERS IN
DIFFERENT SUBJECTS. AGAIN THE TEACHER’S INDIVIDUAL CLASS CODES WILL BE POSTED ON THE
HOMEWORK WEBSITE.
Once a class is joined:
The stream will show any and all messages posted by the teachers.
Students must click on Classwork in order to see work that is posted by the teacher.
Upon clicking on Classwork a screen like the below sample will appear. All assignments created by
teachers for their individual classrooms will appear here
Please pay close attention to the due dates for each assignment.
On top of the screen you will see general assignments that are not affiliated with any topics.
Beneath those you will see assignments broken down by Subjects or Topics. Click on the individual
assignments then click on “View Assigmnent”
Once view assignment is clicked on the next screen appears:
Once on the above screen students can click on the apps (The waffle grid on the top right corner.)
They can select from apps such as Google Docs, Google sheets, Google slides, Google forms etc.
Whichever app they select will be determined by the instruction the teacher gives for the assignment.
IF a teacher instructs to use a google doc (to write a paragraph for example) Selection of google docs in
the apps will open up a window shown below:
In the below window the student would select blank document (first choice on the left under “Start a
new document”
Clicking on blank new document will open up a new tab on the web browser with a blank untitled
document as shown below
Name the document by clicking on “untitled document” to help keep assignments organized and easier
to find. Example: change from untitled documents to “The Voyages of Christopher Columbus”
Note: As long as students are logged in to the internet, they will be able to edit any google document.
There is no need to save or store any documents. Every piece of work is saved automatically on the
google drive.
Clicking on the Waffle Grid will reveal all the apps available for
students. All work created in docs, sheets, slides etc. is
automatically saved to the Google Drive (G- Drive)
Clicking on the Drive app will reveal all files (docs, pics, and sheets)
saved on the G-Drive. This is a virtual drive and saving work to it
will not take up space on your individual computer.
If the work submitted is coming from the Home Computer,
the file/work must then be first uploaded to the G-drive
TO FINALIZE AND TURN IN WORK
Reminder: An assignment must be made by the teacher, which will be found under “classwork”
Clicking on classwork, the assignment, and then view assignment will reveal the following screen:
The assignment must be in the GDrive already. (Using google docs directly saves to the G drive)
Click on “Add or Create” Click on Google Drive
The next window that pops up shows the most recent documents worked on or uploaded to the G drive
Click on the file that has the assigned work and click on “add”
You must own the assignment you are adding / attaching. If it is a Shared document it will not work.
Reminder: If you are uploading a document from your computer’s hard drive you must save the
document then close the document. Otherwise it will not upload.
The document you are submitting will attach Once you see the document attach click “turn in”
(Reminder) If the work submitted is coming from the Home Computer, the file/work must then be first

To upload files to the G-Drive:
Click on Drive app: (from waffle Grid)

Important Note: If you are uploading a document from your computer’s hard drive you must save the
document then close the document after saving it. Otherwise it will not upload.
Once upload files is clicked on. A window appears where the file needs to be found and selected or
clicked on.
Note on the left of the window are different locations the file may be saved on. Example: a file can be
saved to the Desktop or My Documents. You must select the location the file is saved on in order to
select from the right side of the window.
Select your file for upload to G-Drive then Click “Open”
Once any file is uploaded, a message will read on the bottom right corner that the file has been
uploaded.
To finalize and turn in Work: (same steps as when turning in a Google Doc)
