Tips from Ohio State Pi Beta Phi Having gone through recruitment and after having seen it from the other side, we asked our angels what kind of advice they would give to incoming freshman going through the nerve wracking weeks! Here’s what they suggested: - Really try to engage back with girls during rounds - sometimes the questions you have for us spark better conversations than you would imagine! - Follow your heart about where you belong! You will end up in the right place - We’re just as nervous as you are! Don’t be afraid to be goofy, and don’t stress about the outfits, that’s not what we care about! - Keep an open mind and go with what feels right - Don’t rule a sorority out based on the first round. There are so many unique women in each organization and it takes more than 30 minutes to get to know what each sorority is all about. - Have fun! Make it an enjoyable experience, don’t spend the entire time worrying whether you said the right thing or not - Don’t let anyone tell you what house you belong in. Don’t listen to the reputation you hear that houses have because I can assure you that they’re 100% fake. Every pledge class brings something new to each house and whichever one you rush will make you so happy and make you feel so loved! It’s a rough two weeks but it’ll make your decision that much better ….and ultimately, BE YOURSELF!! You’ll find the best fit and your perfect home that way.
