But while cloud computing is a marketing triumph, new research from McKinsey & Company asserts that trying to adopt the cloud model would be a money-losing mistake for most large corporations. Cloud-based email is always cheaper for companies with fewer than 15,000 users. The crossover point for when generic cloud-based email is cheaper than on-premise email is about 15,000 users.
