This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we should lay down our lives for one another.

Dear Parents and Carers, Once again, there’s been lots going on this week. I know that Year 3/4 had a great time when they braved the strong winds on their trip to Calshot. Thank you to all the parents and carers that supported the staff on the outing. Parent Group This week we held our first Parent Group meeting. It was an incredibly supportive and productive meeting with some positive feedback and great ideas on how we can take the school forward. I provided an update on what’s happening behind the scenes at Rownhams and sought feedback on our curriculum and our core beliefs. Parents shared their thoughts on what education means to them and what really matters for the children. Throughout the meeting we diverted to key issues that were important to parents, such as communication and how we can best reward those children who are consistently well behaved and hard working and sometimes get missed out. One of the suggestions was to set up a Facebook account for the school so look out for this soon. I made some notes in

the meeting which I will summarise and send out to all parents. Our next meeting is on the 1st May.

Huge thanks to all the parents who attended and those who have expressed an interest but were unable to. If you are interested in joining Parent Group then please let the office know. It would be great to have a few more parents from Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. Healthy Eating Day On Tuesday this week HC3S who run our school catering service organised a Healthy Eating Day. All of the chil-dren were treated to a special workshop that promoted healthy eating and the day culminated in a ‘cook-off’ be-tween myself and Miss Hamilton. Miss Hamilton was in the green corner (the green peppers) and I was in the red corner (the red tomatoes) and the Young Governors were the tasting judges! It was my sweet and sour chicken stir fry that was voted the winner and there was no cheating involved - I promise! Parents Finally, just a reminder that Parents’ evening is on the 26th and 28th March. You can book your appointments online now. Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.
