11.10 Using NLN Materials on the Web – NLN Materials have moved from their former mode of delivery from college servers to a web-based service. This session will show you how to set up and log on to an account – and provide time for you to explore content.
Mike Moran - RSCni11.45 Using Intute for Sourcing Materials for Teaching – when we last
presented intute it was in the early stages of its conversion from RDN. It has now grown to cover 65 subject areas and has built a large number of new facilities. This session will focus on exploring the subject-based items.

13.15 Using Intute for Expanding Your LR Services– This session will be a practical exploration of the important features that LR staff can use to develop their resources and to assist lecturers and students. This will include: how to integrate it into your VLE; using Intute for induction; using the Virtual Training Suite.

JISC e-Books for FE Project Objectives
• Procurement• Stimulation of the e-Books Market• Embedding in Teaching and Learning
Actions• Provide FE colleges with access to a core collection of e-books on
an e-books platform• Host a Core Collection of e-books for the FE community and
provide search and access facility• Funded from August 2009 – July 2011• JISC Collections will put in place a Framework Agreement to allow
colleges to select and buy licences for additional books – available on the same platform
• From July 2009 JISC Collections to monitor the usage of the Core Collection and additional books and use stats to proactively inform embedding of e-books

•Go to the site www.intute.ac.uk and create a MyIntute account for yourself – based on your college email address•Search for and find one record from each of two different subject categories•Store both of them in your MyIntute•Find a PowerPoint presentation from the Support Materials area and adapt the contents for use as an induction to Intute – for either students or staff in your college (add your college logo if you wish)•Find out about and comply with the Creative Commons licence of intute in your presentation•Email the finished presentation to a colleague back at your college (or elsewhere)
