RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

will be held at 6:30pm on Thursdays in the St. James Room. All that are thinking of seeking full

participation in the Catholic Church or you just want to know more about the Church even if you are a

Catholic are invited on this journey to fully understand our faith. The course will be taught by Deacon Mike Blome`

and we will be using the U.S. Catholic Catechism for Adults as our reference. The next five weeks

we will continue examining The Creed: The Faith Professed.

¡Amo el otoño tanto! Las calabazas, el cambio de las hojas, las

hogueras, sabrosos dulces de otoño, y el frío en la aire hacen una gran temporada. Espera, dejé algo fuera. Lo que dejé fuera es ... esperarlo ... café de Calabaza Spice café! Quien no le gusta

la calabaza Spice café ???? Me divago. Uno de las primeras cosas que aprendí al llegar a la Iglesia Católica de San Felipe el Apóstol es que hay un Festival de Otoño aquí cada año y que es increíble. Todos los queparticipó y

asistió al Festival de Otoño el año pasado dijo que fue un enorme éxito. ¿¿¿Adivina qué???

¡¡¡Está casi aquí!!! De hecho, ¡solo faltan tres semanas! Este año, el festival de otoño es el

domingo, 29 de octubre a las 5:00 pm. Los invito sacar su celular IPhone y

reservarlo en su calendario ahora. Habrá comida deliciosa, excitantes paseos a caballo, juegos, y mucho más! Este año tendremos un

tema especial de superhéroes. Invita a sus hijos o nietos o grandes nietos que se ponen un traje

de su superhéroe favorito y venir listo para divertirse. Estoy parcial hacia Batman, pero doy la bienvenida a todos los pequeños superhéroes

aquí en St. Philips. Es una maravilla oportunidad de reunirnos como una familia

parroquial, conocer gente nueva, y dejar que nuestros hijos tengan el tiempo de su vidas.

I love Autumn so much! The pumpkins, the turning of the leaves, the

bonfires, tasty Fall treats, and the chill in the air make it a great season. Wait, I left something

out. What I left out is…wait for it… Pumpkin Spice coffee! Who doesn’t like

Pumpkin Spice coffee???? I digress. One of the first things I learned upon arriving at

St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church is that there is a Fall Festival here every year

and that it is amazing. All those who participated in and attended the Fall Festival

last year said it was a huge success. Guess what??? It’s almost here!!! In fact, it’s only three weeks away!

This year’s Fall Festival is on Sunday, October 29th at 4:00pm.

I invite you to take out your IPhone and reserve it on your calendar now.

There will be delicious food, exciting hayrides, fun games, and so much more!

This year we will have a special superhero theme. Make sure your kids or grandkids or

great grandkids put on a costume of their favorite superhero and come ready to have

some fun. I’m partial towards Batman, but I welcome all little superheroes here

at St. Philips. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a parish family, meet new people, and let our kids have the time of

their lives. See you there!

ANNUAL FAYETTE CARES NIGHT OF SOUTHER ELEGANCE Once again, St. Philip the Apostle will be sponsoring a dinner table for the Annual Fayette Cares Night of Southern Elegance on Sat., Nov. 4th at 6pm. The event will be held at Ring Companies, 65 Industrial Rd., Oakland, TN. We will be picking 7 (seven) parishioners to attend. There is no cost to you, just a matter of “luck”. If you are interested, fill out a ballot with your name and contact information and drop it in the box located the PCC,. If you would like to register as a couple, please include both names. Although the dinner will be complimentary, you may want to bring your check-book...they will be having a fabulous auction and all proceeds go to Fayette Cares.
