YOUR GUIDE: RALPH BOUSFIELD. Ralph doesn’t guide just any safari. Ralph is universally known as Africa’s best guide with knowledge that is unrivalled by anyone else and a passion for Africa which is infectious. Ralph comes from a long line of African pioneers and adventurers and his family have guided safaris for four generations. Ralph’s father grew up hunting crocodiles in Tanganyika and was one of the first great white hunters to turn his back on hunting in favour of conservation. Ralph is famous for his charisma and flair whilst on safari, and only guides for discerning individuals – Ralph often guides royalty and other people of merit. Ralph now looks after all conservation in Botswana and is a very well respected expert within the safari industry. YOUR ITINERARY: Starting with 6 nights in the Okavango Delta There is a reason that the Okavango Delta is Africa’s most famous game viewing destination – there are very few camps and an abundance of big game. Ralph and his team will take you through some of the most remote unexplored regions of the Delta with exceptional wildlife viewing throughout, encountering lions, leopard, cheetah, elephant and buffalo to name but a few. You will spend your first three nights in Ralph’s private luxury mobile camp set up for you, before sleeping out under the stars on a private island in the Okavango Delta, and then returning to find your private camp located in a new area of the Delta for a further two nights game viewing. Your camp is incredibly comfortable set up in the style of the first great explorers of Africa with excellent service, gourmet food and the benefit of exploring some of the Okavango Delta’s most remote wildernesses. On arrival into Maun in Botswana at the beginning of your safari you will be met and flown by private light aircraft from Maun to meet Ralph and the team in the Delta, and will then be flown onwards by light aircraft to the Makgadikgadi Pans in the Kalahari to end your safari with four nights at San Camp or Jack’s Camp.




4 NIGHTS IN THE LUXURIOUS SAN OR JACK’S CAMP IN THE MAKGADIKGADI PANS YOUR LOCATION: Makgadikgadi Pans, Kalahari Desert

The Makgadikgadi Pans represent the closest similarity to being on the moon. These vast salt pans stretch as far as the eye can see. Jack’s Camp and San Camp are set up in one of the World’s most remote locations and offer two of the World’s most exclusive safari experiences. The Salt Pans are home to a plethora of unusual wildlife species, which you will not have seen in the Okavango Delta. Here you can star gaze and see the milky way, take quad bikes across the pans searching for fossils, walk with the San Bushmen (Africa’s oldest tribe) and spend time with habituated families of meerkats. The friendly meerkats climb tentatively up your shoulder and sit on your head surveying the surrounding bush, spending a few hours with these adorable creatures as they play and forage is Africa’s ultimate close up wildlife experience. The Makgadikgadi Pans are unlike anywhere else on earth and it is the feeling of remoteness which really captures the heart. YOUR ITINERARY: 4 nights in San Camp or Jack’s Camp

ALL YEAR: Jack’s Camp is open all year. Jack’s Camp was set up by Ralph in memory of his father and is still known as one of Africa’s most luxurious and exclusive safari camps. The camp itself is opulent and furnished with authentic antique furniture used by Ralph’s father. There are luxurious four poster beds and extravagant thrones. The food is gourmet and the mess tent has a museum of artefacts found in the area and some of Jack Bousfield’s own safari equipment.

APRIL – OCTOBER: Between April and October Jack’s sister camp San Camp opens. San Camp

offers chic Moroccan style white tents spread far and wide across the pans. This camp really is magical and affects those who stay there deeply. It is Africa’s most unique camp in both style and location.

After your safari in the Makgadikgadi Pans you will be flown by light aircraft back to Maun airport in time for

your flight home.
