LIGHTWEIGHT COMBINATION SPRAY GUN

Whilst the Power-Sprays Concentric GRC Spray gun is the preferred choice of most GRC producers a popular alternative is the Lightweight Combination Spray gun. It is also the spray gun that is recommended for spraying Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum (GRG). A glass fibre chopper and a slurry gun are mounted on a single bracket with a facility to vary the angle between the two and thus adjust the focal point of the two materials. A cement based or gypsum slurry is supplied via a pump and flexible hose to the slurry gun where it is atomised by compressed air and projected through the nozzle. The glass fibre roving is cut to the required length within the chopper mechanism. Fibre lengths between 6mm and 42mm are possible by changing the cutter blocks. The cut fibres are blown into and mixed with the slurry to form a composite on the mould surface. After spraying the GRC or GRG, the composite is normally consolidated by roller compaction. The Lightweight Combination Spray Gun is also recommended when fast setting materials are used. The slurry gun can be easily dismantled and cleaned. Furthermore, the Lightweight Combination Spray gun is suitable for use when there is the likelihood of some oversize (2-3mm) particles in the sand, as these will not block the slurry gun.
