If you’re going on vacation remember to take along an issue of The Platte Enterprise for our Eprise Gets Around. We’d like to see where you have been! Is Your Subscription Due? Thank You We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the folks who helped in our time of grief—Mark, Michelle and April at Mount Funer- al Home, Pastor Drew Hoekema for the uplifting words of comfort and Brooke and Tanya for the beauti- ful floral arrangements. To all who helped and expressed condolences, thank you. Cleo Bultsma Family* ———————— New Books at Platte Library By Jan VanVuren We have new books added to our collection as well as several new books on cd which are great to listen to as you are traveling. The Reckless Oath We Made is our new Book Club book. Be sure to read it and join in our discussion on March 2 at 7 PM. We would love to have new readers join us for a laid back discussion. CHILDREN: Four Famous Faces by Jean Patrick, The Dinky Donkey by Craig Smith. The Dinky Donkey is a sequel to the Wonky Donkey, a great book for children. JUNIOR: Garfield Weighs In by Jim Davis, The Unteachables by Gordon Korman, Crown of Mid- night and Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas. The Unteachables is a hilari- ous new middle school novel about what happens when the worst class of kids in the school gets paired with the worst teacher who thinks only of retiring. Then something happens and Mr. Kermit suddenly stands up for the class, and both students and teacher realize the value of their abilities. ADULT NONFICTION: Witch Hunt: The Story of the Greatest Mass Delusion in American Political History by Gregg Jarrett, Papillon by Henri Charriere, Survivors Club: The True Story of a Very Young Prisoner of Auschwitz by Michael Bornstein, Return From Tomorrow by George Ritchie. George Ritchie died in an army hospital at the age of twenty. Nine minutes later he re- turned to life. What happened to him during those minutes was so compelling, it changed his life forever. This ex- perience altered his view of eternity and changed his entire life. This book may change your life for the better too. In 1945 four-year- old Michael Bornstein was carried out of Auschwitz in his grandmoth- er’s arms. Survivors Club tells the story of how a mother’s fierce love and a perfectly timed illness saved Michael’s life. Working from his own recollections and extensive in- terviews with relatives, Michael re- lates his inspirational story with the help of his daughter Debbie. Based on a true story, Henri Charriere, also known as Papillon, is wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to life in a French penal colony in French Guyana. Papillon is determined to escape, but his at- tempts are met with difficulties, resulting in eventual recapture. He makes friends with Dega, who helps finance his escape. Papillon is the greatest true story of escape and ad- venture ever written! ADULT FICTION: The Rescue by Steven Konkoly, A Gathering of Old Men by Ernest J. Gaines, Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner, Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano, Final Scream by Lisa Jackson, To Love and to Cherish by Leigh Green- wood, The Circle Eight by Emma Thank You I would like to thank all of my relatives and friends for the nice cards, letters, gifts and phone calls I received in honor of my 95th birth- day.
