Company Banner?

A. Yes, throughout the book the words standardand banner are used interchangeably.

Q.If I upgrade a Company Banner to the SacredStandard or the Chapter Banner, do the effects ofthe new banner stack up with those of theCompany Banner or do they replace theminstead?

A. The effects of the Company Banner arereplaced by those of the new banner, so thebanner loses the effect of a Company Banner, butwill have the effects of either the Sacred Standardor the Chapter Banner.

Q. What are the Furious Assault and the ExpertRider special rules?

A. Whoops! They are the Furious Charge andthe Skilled Rider universal special rulesrespectively (as described in the Warhammer40,000 rulebook).

Q.Heed the wisdom of the Ancients trait doesit allow taking Dreadnoughts both as Heavy

Support and as Elites (Venerable ones) or must Ichoose to have them as either Elites or a Heavy

Support? In other words, can I have sixDreadnoughts in my army?

A. Both as Heavy Support and as Elites! So, youcan have up to three Dreadnoughts as Elites which must be Venerable and up to three asHeavy Support, any of which can be upgraded toVenerable.

Q.Does a Techmarines twin-linked plasmapistol on the servo-harness give an extra attackin close combat?

A.Yes.

Q. What are the conventions for the Libariansfamiliar? Is it a separate model with its ownbase or just modelled onto the Libarian? And, if

he has a bike/jump pack is he slowed down bythe familiar?

A. Its a separate model, but it always moves atthe Librarians speed.

And They Shal l Know No Fear

The And They Shall Know No Fear special rule

refers to the Universal Special Rules in the mainrulebook. This rule is no longer there, so isreprinted here for reference.

Space Marines automatically pass tests toregroup, and can take tests even if the squad hasbeen reduced to less than 50% by casualties,though all other criteria apply. If Space Marinesare caught by a sweeping advance, they are notdestroyed and will instead continue to fightnormally. If this happens then the unit is subjectto the No Retreat! rule in this round of closecombat and may therefore lose additionalcasualties. Usually troops that regroup may notmove normally and always count as movingwhether they do or not, but these restrictions donot apply to models with this special rule.

Note that units which include Servitors are stillsubject to this rule as long as the unit contains atleast one Space Marine.

Land Raiders

The Land Raider and Land Raider Crusadershould have the following special rule added:

Assault Vehicle: Models disembarking from anyaccess point may launch an assault on the turnthey do so.

FAQ

Q.In the Terminator armour description on page25, it says that models with Terminator armourmay deep strike only if the mission allows it, butthen the Terminator squads entry says that theycan deep strike even in missions that do not

allow this special rule to be used. Which one isit?

A. All models in Terminator armour may alwayschoose to start in reserve and deep strike ontothe battlefield, regardless of the mission beingplayed.

Q.Is a Company Standard the same as a

Q.Do Drop Pods count as immobilised (andhence worth 15VP) the moment they touch down?Also, are any immobilised hits on them countedfor the purposes of weapon destroyed results?

A. Yes and yes.

Q.Does the Commanders Rites of Battle specialrule affect only squads or does it also affectother independent characters?

A. It affects every model in the army.

Psychic Powers

Q.Does the Veil of TimeLibrarian power allowre-rolls on ALL of the listed tests, or just ONE of

ANY of those listed?

A. Any and all!

Q.Does the Fury of the AncientsLibrarian powerrequire line of sight to a target?

A. No.

Q.Does Fury of the Ancients need to passthrough a model in the unit in order to count as

hitting the unit?

A. No, just through the unit (including gapsbetween models).

Q.Does the Hood of Hellfire affect the Fear ofDarknesspsychic power?

A. Yes, the area of effect is doubled.
