PARISH LIFE Construction News May 15, 2020 September should be a memorable month at St. Mary of Sorrows. Our new church could be ready for us to move into! The contractor is work- ing very hard to make that a reality. There are possible delays with the virus situation and the decrease in workers or trades being closed but there is progress! Brick on the out- side, drywall on the inside, picking paint colors, finalizing the Seven Sorrows windows and dedications, security, telephone, sound systems being wired, roof shingles and windows coming soon! Just add Parish Needs Collection to the memo line. Thank you!! Prayer Shawl Ministry St Mary’s Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2003 and to this day we are con- tinuing to pray and serve. PARISH OUTREACH MINISTRY

St. Lucy Project Food Drive Thanks You!Thank you to all who participated in the May 15th Food Drive forCatholic Charities St. Lucy Project. Many individuals and familiesin need throughout our area will have nutritious meals during thisunprecedented pandemic due to your generosity! A special thankyou to parishioner, Mike Rolince, and to the Huber family and theSt. Mary's Boy Scouts and families, along with our thanks to ourdedicated St. Mary's food pantry team.

All Parish Outreach Ministry Programming is Cancelled or Postponed at this time.

Groups of 10 or more are not permitted to gather.

Food PantryThe St. Mary's Food Pantry volunteers continue to provide fooddonations to our community-based food banks and feeding pro-grams, many of which are St. Mary's Tithing Fund recipients, includ-ing: Fairfax FISH, The St. Lucy Project, Food for Others, The LambCenter, and Christ House. At the time of this bulletin submission,the volunteers are also providing food from the St. Mary's pantry tofamilies in need on a limited basis BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. No food is distrib-uted from inside the church main foyer and appointments must bemade by phone or email only - no walk-ins.

Face Masks NeededPathway Homes is a nonprofit organization that makes non-time-lim-ited, affordable housing and services available to people who havemental illness and co-occurring disabilities in Northern Virginia.Pathway Homes is seeking donations of face masks for clients and foressential staff members who continue to work with clients face-to-face. If you are making masks and would like to donate some, pleasecontact Caroline Moyer at [email protected]. This wouldbe a good service project. Pathway Homes receives money from St.Mary’s tithing funds.
