December 2, 2014 To: Sunbelt Rentals Scholarship Selection Committee I am writing on behalf of Madison Phillips regarding the Sunbelt Rentals Scholarship. As the Head Coach for the Women’s Soccer Program at Coastal Carolina I was fortunate enough to spend all four years of Madison’s college soccer career with her. During her time on the team, Madison and I developed a great relationship in which we could communicate effectively and honestly about the program and her role on the team. I was not the coach that recruited Madison as I was hired after she had already committed to come to play at Coastal but very thankfully she decided to honor that commitment. In her time here she played under three different assistant coaches as well, all the while remaining steadfast in her commitment and honesty to herself and our team, keeping the end goal in mind of taking this program to a level it had never seen. Madison's consistency, drive, enthusiasm and never quit attitude permeated our team and she was able to finish what she originally started when she came here, and that was putting Coastal Women's Soccer on the map. We could never have done it without her. Being one of five seniors this past year came with an enormous amount of responsibility. Madison was called upon every single day to lead the team on and off the field and help our staff improve our program base. Madison was a constant figure for our team on the field giving us significant minutes throughout the season. She pushed through injuries and setbacks, always with a smile on her face, ready to face whatever challenge was thrown her way. That example was perfect for our younger players to see and they are now attempting to mirror her efforts. Madison has always held herself and her teammates to the highest standards when it comes to preparation for the season by being the most fit player on the field. Being the most fit player is not something that comes naturally, it comes with hard work, and Madison has been our hardest worker for four straight years.

To: Sunbelt Rentals Scholarship Selection Committee

I am writing on behalf of Madison Phillips regarding the Sunbelt Rentals Scholarship.

Her dedication and persistence is not only seen on the field but also in the classroom. Madison’s work ethic is almost unmatched and it shows in her academic achievements. There is no better example that we could have for our younger players, than Madison Phillips. I wish we had 25 of her.

Should you have any questions for me or my staff, please feel free to write or call. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. You will not find a better or more deserving recipient of your scholarship, than our Maddie.

Very sincerely,

Paul HoganHead CoachCoastal Carolina University Women's Soccer
