The masthead Q is one of many well known recognisable brands. The colour is bold, with white and red as the background. This is effective because the colours contrast each other. The masthead is always positioned in the left top corner of Q magazine showing the audience that it is exactly the same magazine and is easily recognisable as it is a well known brand and a well established magazine. It always uses the same colours- red and white so this keeps to the code and conventions of having the masthead the same on each section and having it as the largest texts on the front page stands out and also sticks to the code and conventions.

This is an effective masthead because its bold black lettering with the filling of colour in particular areas consisting of reds, blue and yellow which are primary colours. It always sticks to the codes and conventions of the masthead as it is always the largest text on the front page making it easier to look out for in a store.

The masthead mojo is an effective masthead because its short and snappy, making it easier to remember. The colour scheme of this title is black, grey with a subtle hint of white, this is to help make it more three dimensional which clearly makes it stand out. The definition of Mojo just implies A British magazine

The masthead Rolling stones is very catchy. The colour scheme is rather effective in this sense because the use of red and black contrast each other and the use if three dimensions make it bigger, bolder and stand out too. This is useful when it comes to being sold and placed in shops because it makes it look more interesting as oppose to dull colours. The way Rolling stones is written is in italics which make the magazine seem to have a rather relaxed approach, in comparison to mojo, Q and billboard.
