Through its extensive use of improvisation in commercial spots for products and the emphasis placed on the process in its art videos, Macinino ™ has made a series of

ArtProps™, items transformed and cast in the starring roles of Videotricks™.

These macinazioni often originate as industrial objects that eventually become unique works, emphasizing the concept of

the object as icon, collectibles.

Whether used for a promotional video or an art video, ArtProps™ are offered with a certificate of authenticity, verifying the

uniqueness of the object, together with the video that documents the implementation.

Is the term that refers to an action or a transformation performed on a bicycle.

In Biciclazione #1 (2009) a racing bicycle from the 80’s and a collapsible “Graziella” bicycle were salvaged. Sawed and welded, the two complementary parts were combined with other salvaged accessories to create a unique sculpture.

The kinetic sculpture Biciclazione #1is the result of a performance by Macinino™ in 2009.

The action involves the salvage of two abandoned bicycles, cutting and joining the parts of these different bicycles using an electric welder.The result is an ecological hybrid, primitively assembled and non-functional, that while heedless of the technical aspects of the vehicle is charged with intense artistic and provocative force.The work was documented in videos that can be found on YouTube.

In response to the invitation of the Fondazione

March, Macinino™ designed a

poster dedicatedto phobias.

OBEY YOUR FEARS™

The work asks the viewer to reflect on the speculation built around our contemporary

fears. The media, to their own advantage, in fact create new fears and amplify our

concerns.

Macinino™ took part in the event that included the display of posters, some as large as 6x3 meters, along the streets of Padua and later in Prague.To create the artistic project Words/Billboard, sponsored by the March Foundation and the Tina B festival, three anti-pollen masks were used on which were embroidered the words: “Obey your fears”.These masks are now offered in a wooden frame with glass.

Inspired by the title of the magazine Innov(e)tion Valley, a supplement

offered in the Venetian edition of the

newspaper Corriere della Sera, Macinino ™ proposes a provocation based on the theme of

the brand.

The North East of Italy is now being promoted as a brand, something solid and concrete;

But in the reality of everyday life, all of this doesn’t exist.

The term milled, unlike made, indicates the action of transformation by processing existing materials: macinazione. This Work is accomplished by marking the pieces with a hot brand. Leaden letters, normally used for gravestones, were used to create the ‘brand’.The objects subjected to macinazione are two of the most popular items in the Ikea catalog. The work was documented in videos that can be found on YouTube.
