Use the default settings for all your goods or specify unique shipping rates per product.

On top of that, you can quickly configure the shipping costs of multiple products at once by creating custom shipping rate presets.





CONFIGURING THE DEFAULT SHIPPING RATE SETTINGS





To configure the extension’s general settings and the default product shipping rates, navigate to: System Configuration in the top Admin Panel menu and

Select ‘Shipping Methods’ from the left hand Configuration menu.

If the extension has been installed successfully, Product Shipping Rate Per Countryshould be visible at the top of the Shipping Methods configuration screen.

Enable the extension to activate the shipping method on the front- and back-end.

CONFIGURING TITLE AND METHOD NAME





The shipping rates added at ‘Default Country Shipping Rates’ are used for products without specific country shipping rates, which can be configured in the Product Shipping Rates tab of the product’s admin page.

DEFAULT COUNTRY SHIPPING RATES

To configure the default product shipping rates, select one or multiple countries from the list box, enter the shipping rate in the input field and click ‘Add’ or press ‘Enter’.






You can use the integrated presets to automatically select multiple countries in the same region.

Select ‘Default rate’ from the country list box to add a default shipping rate for all destination countries.

DEFAULT COUNTRY SHIPPING RATES





There are two options to calculate product shipping rates: per item or per product / SKU.

DEFAULT PRODUCT SHIPPING RATE CALCULATION

Per itemThe product shipping rate is multiplied with the ordered quantity.

Example:So if 5 items are ordered with a shipping rate of $2, the total product shipping costs will be $10.

Per product / SKUThe product shipping rates are fixed, regardless of the ordered quantity.

Example:So if 5 items are added to the order with a shipping rate of $2, the total product shipping costs will remain $2.

It’s also possible to configure the product shipping rate calculation method per product.

DEFAULT TOTAL SHIPPING COSTS CALCULATION

There are also two options to calculate the total shipping costs in the shopping cart: the product shipping rates can be added up to the total or override it.

Add up to total shipping costsThe individual product shipping rates are added up to the total shipping costs.

Example:When adding a product with a shipping rate of $10 to an order with a shipping subtotal of $5. the total shipping costs are $15.

Override total shipping costsThe total shipping costs are overridden by the highest product shipping rate.

Example:Following the example above, the product shipping rate of $10 would override the $5 shipping subtotal, making the total shipping costs $10.

It’s also possible to configure the total shipping costs calculation method per product.

CONFIGURABLE PRODUCT SHIPPING RATES

At ‘Configurable Product Shipping Rates’ you can select the default configuration method for configurable product types, by using the settings of the parent product for the child product(s), or vice versa.

It’s also possible to configure the configurable product shipping rate settings per product (if applicable).

FIXED ORDER SHIPPING RATES

At ‘Fixed Order Shipping Rates’ you can add fixed order fees per country, which are added to the total product shipping costs, even if a product with an overriding shipping rate is added to the shopping cart.

For example, if the product shipping costs of an order are $20 with a fixed order shipping rate of $5, the total shipping costs will be $25.

To configure fixed order shipping rates, select one or multiple countries from the list box, enter the shipping rate in the input field and click ‘Add’ or press ‘Enter’.

Select ‘Default rate’ from the country list box to add a default fixed order shipping rate for all destination countries.

SHIP TO APPLICABLE / SPECIFIC COUNTRIES

You can choose to enable the shipping method for all allowed countries or select specific destination countries.

If the shipping method is only enabled for specific countries, you can choose to show or hide the shipping method for not applicable countries.

SORT ORDER / SAVE CONFIGURATION

SORT ORDERWhen using multiple shipping methods you can define the sort order, starting with 0.

SAVE CONFIGURATIONTo save any changes made in the extension’s configuration, click the ‘Save Config’ button in the top right corner of the screen.

To specify the country shipping rates and calculation options per product, navigate to Catalog Manage Products

Select a product from the catalog and click ‘Product Shipping Rates’ in the left hand Product Information menu.

If you have created custom shipping rate presets you can select one from the preset drop-down menu at the top of the Product Shipping Rates tab.

USE SHIPPING RATE PRESET

The selected preset will take effect after the product has been saved, updating the shipping rates and calculation options in the Product Shipping Rates tab accordingly.

Alternatively you can configure the product shipping rates manually using the options in the next pages.






The country shipping rates configured for a specific product will automatically override the default country shipping rates added in the extension’s config screen.

To add product shipping rates, select one or multiple countries from the list box, enter the shipping rate in the input field and click ‘Add’ or press ‘Enter’.

When configuring the shipping rates and calculation methods of configurable product types, you can choose to use the settings of the parent product for the child product(s), or vice versa.

The child products can be viewed and edited in the Associated Products tab of the Product Information menu.

CONFIGURABLE PRODUCT SHIPPING RATES






You can optionally enter a custom shipping rate calculation SKU, which can be useful when configuring the shipping rates of similar products that are sold in different sizes, colors, etc.

Products with the same shipping rate calculation SKU will be treated as one single product when calculating the shipping costs.

SHIPPING RATE CALCULATION SKU

Example: A Magento store is selling two memory cards, one 8GB card (hde005) and one 16GB card (hde004). When selecting the ‘per product/SKU’ calculation method for these memory cards, their shipping rate will be charged twice when the 8GB and 16GB cards are purchased together. By assigning the same shipping rate calculation SKU to both cards, for example ‘memory-card’, the cards will be treated as one product when purchased together, charging the product shipping rate only once.





CONFIGURING PRODUCT SHIPPING RATE PRESETS





If you want to quickly configure the same shipping rates for multiple products at once, such as products of the same type, attribute set or price category, you can create custom shipping rate presets by navigating to Catalog Product Shipping Rate Presets in the top Admin Panel menu.

Create a new shipping rate preset by clicking the ‘Add New Preset’button in the top right corner of the screen.

In the Shipping Rate Settings tab you can enter a preset name and configure its country shipping rates and calculation methods.

Open the Preset Products tab to select the applicable products for the shipping rate preset.
