Precautions lor Handling1. Checkthe attraction of the magnetic base before securing a pole and attaching a dialgage. Do

not try to separate it while being attracted.2. Shock due to hitting and falling will become a cause of malfunction.3. When loosening the pole with the dial gage attached, be sure to hold the dial gage by hand.4. To prevent ahazard due to inadvertent attraction, be sure to perform the attraction operation

on an objectto attract.

Holding power:1.The holding power will drop on thin oblects.2.The holding power will drop on materials other than mild steel plates.3.The holding power will drop on attractive faces that are rough or dirty with dust or painbd.4.The holding power in the sideways direction is much smaller than that in the perpendicular

Maintenance and lnspection:The holding power will drop if the attractive face of the magnetic base has a convex damage.Remove the damage and smooth the face with a file or grinding.

A strong magnetic lield is produced:x lf precision equipment such as watches and magnetic cards are brought close the

magnetic base,their functions may be damaged.x lf the magnetic base is brought close to medical equipment such as pace makers,there is a

hazard ol impeding their operation.

A slrong magnetic torce is produced:x lf the inagn-etic base is brought close to an iron plate inadvertently,it is affracted by a

strong holding power abruptly,causing injury such as pinching fingers. 0bserve safetyprecautions such as wearing gloves.

* Prior to bringing the magnetic base close to kon,make sure it is 0FF.

Priorto putting the magnetic base in practical use,check if it has a sufficient holding powerfor the intended application by trying it on an object to attract.

Hold the magnetic itself when turning it 0FF.* lf the 0N-0FF knob is operated inadvertently,the magnetic foree will be lost

abruptly, causing such accidents as falling and overturning. Be sure to hold the body withboth hands to operate the 0N-0FF knob.
