1 LOCATION / PLANT LAYOUT:
Three different layouts are given – Kindly
confirm if the location is in one singular
location of 25meter x 25 meter. Kindly specify
if there are any specific height restrictions.
Yes it is one singular location of 25 X 25 mtrs . Pl see the
representative drawing attached and specifications in which
it is mentioned that these are limiting dimentions. (Refer
Annexure IV of CORRIGENDUM No.001)
1.1Kindly confirm whos responsibility to procure
building plan approvalsEPC Contractor’s responsibility
1.2
Is there any specification or restriction
between use of pre-engineered building (PEB)
versus civil RCC construction
NO
1.3
From operating safety point of view it is
recommended that the cooling towers and
condensor/revcivers be placed at height and
not at ground level due to the heavy human
traffic in the dock area.
These equipment’s are placed in the enclosed room with
proper ventilation, the general human traffic is not supposed
to pass through the plant room. If technical justification is
satisfactory & required performance is acheived , contractor
has flexibility to modify the arrangement after taking into
consideration the limiting dimensions & height .
1.4
Ice rake system should be on ground floor
due to heavy loading of ice and future
operational maintainence issues
We have space restriction, in case the ice rake system
installed on ground floor, screw conveyor laying will be a
challenge and another space will be required to install the
compressors . If technical justification is satisfactory &
required performance is acheived , contractor has flexibility
to modify the arrangement after taking into consideration
the limiting dimensions & height .

1.5
Water storage – Kindly specify the actual
water tank capacity required and whether
they should be overhead or underground or
on ground and the capacities of each.
Owner will maintain the sufficient quantity of water in
storage tank. Owner will provide the water points/piping in
the ice plant with the head of about 15 meters. Contractor
has to specify the quantity of water required in ice plant.
Contractor to maintain buffer tank & include in his
scope(However this is not mandatory).
1.6
As discussed in the meeting please confrim
that ammonia is the recommended
refrigerant. If not, please specify which other
refrigerant.
Ammonia refrigerant is OK.
1.2CAPACITIES & SUGGESTED PLANT
CONFIGURATION
1.2.1
The exisiting plant configuration of 60 TPD x7
nos and 40 TPDx2 nos is not the most cost
effective on capex or opex basis. Better
option either 80 x 6 or 125 x 4 with multiple
compressors configuration which will provide
the operating efficiency as well as lower
power consumption – better for power
efficiency and operational efficeincy – in
addition the complete spares will be
interchangable and the operations team will
not have to maintain two differnet sets of
spares – for 60 TPD and 40 TPD.
Power consumption of ice maker depends on the tons of
production and hence the change of model / size of the Tube
Ice Maker should not make any major difference in power
requirement since overall requirement is 500 TPD
Considering 5 nos of total discharge in trawlers , location,
length & restriction of screw conveyors (Pl see drawing) 3
sets of ice makers with storage rooms are envisaged.
Flexibility is also required to operate individual or more
than one ice makers in each set .It is recommended to run
plant at partial load if requirement is reduced or in the event
of breakdown of one ice maker , total set is not shut down.
With this philosophy , size & location of ice makers for each
set can be decided by contractor to meet total requirement
of 500 TPD. A maximum of 2 sizes of ice maker are
recommended keeping in mind spares requirement &
interchangeability.

Sr. No. Name of Company Query's from bidder Clarifications / Reply
1.2.2
Since the tube ice plant operate using hot has
defrosting the plant operating efficieny
increases if the receivers and
condensors/cooling towers are combined.
Query is not clear. Separate receiver is preferable to
accommodate the refrigerant liquid in case of system pump
down.
1.3 MOC SPECIFICS –
1.3.1
Tube ice plant - should be Seamless tubes 304
@ 16 guage and SS304 shell due to the
promity of plant to the sea and the resultant
corrosive environment.
SS 304 x 16 G seamless tubes & SS 304 shell is OK
1.3.2
Please specify the screw conveyor MOCS (SS
304 or hot dip galvinized)– it is highly
recommended that the total length of the
screw conveyor will be divided in sections
with any one individual section not more than
20 meters. This will ensure power and
oeprating efficieny. Further, the conveyors of
20 mt should be divided into 2 x 10 mt in
order to accord for future operational
maintainence and downtime issues.
SS 304 MOC of the `U’ trough type Screw Conveyors is
OK. Contractors can break the screw conveyor lengths
suitably, preferably +/- 20 m length is OK
Please confirm conveyor insulation? Conveyor insulation is reputed make foam rubber of suitable
thickness to withstand the ice temperature
