A. Personal Statement

I belong from a rural background where an average woman was not encouraged to reach even to the Secondary School Education and people were reluctant to send their daughters to the school to get Primary Education. However, i did my PhD and carved my ways through hard work and dedication.

During the phase of getting the Primary and High Secondary education, I used to travel daily by bus from my village, Dijkot. It is situated at about 26 KM from Faisalabad. Thereafter, I got admission in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and completed my BSc

(Hons) Animal Husbandry in 1994. I worked in Peshawar as study coordinator for one year then I earned my MSc (Hons) and PhD (1997 and 2002 respectively) degrees in Animal Nutrition. I was the first woman dairy nutritionist in Pakistan. I worked as Research Associate in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and also worked as a woman livestock production officer in Livestock and Dairy Development, Department and worked with rural livestock farming community for many years. After gaining this diverse experience, I joined University of Agriculture, Faisalabad as a lecturer in 2003.

I possess more than 13 years of teaching and research experience. I have been teaching undergraduate courses in Human Nutrition and Dietetics including metabolism of primary nutrients, Minerals and Vitamins in Human Nutrition, feed resources, principles of Animal Nutrition and postgraduate courses including minerals in nutrition, vitamins in nutrition and metabolic disorders for the last many years.I have supervised 4 PhD and 17 MSc (Hons) students as a major supervisor and many as a member of supervisory committees. I have published more than 150 (92 in impact factor journals) research articles in refereed journals and also author/co-author of 4 books, 30 extension articles and 11 brochures/leaflets. I have attended many national and foreign scientific conferences to present my research work. I have completed more than 9 research projects as principal investigator, sponsored by different public and private organizations and currently trying to get projects from different funding agencies. I had the honor of establishing University Day Care Center; UAF and was its founder Incharge. I started University Scout Rangers chapter at UAF and was its founder President. I am actively involved in University Tutoring System as a tutor and member in many committees of Directorate of Sport, UAF. I am not only the repeat recipient of Research Productivity Award by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Islamabad, but had the honor of winning University better incentives for multiple times. In recognition of teaching and research, I was decorated with Izaz-i-Fazeelat,PresidentialAward. I also won the Star Laureate Award by South Asian Publications, Karachi in 2002.

Now I am working as Associate Professor/Incharge, Institute of Home and Food Science,Government College University, Faisalabad. Because of my versatile expertise in many disciplines including Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Animal Nutrition and Food Science, I can better perform in One Health Concept.InSha Allah
