• It contains 34 trays

• Column height is 19.5 m & diameter is 1.5 m

• Slurry enters from top at 90C & leaves from bottom at 110C

• About 10000 to 15000 PPM VCM is recovered from stripping column

• Total Column weight: 11,865kg 

• Trays’ bundle weight: 2,690kg

• Top shell weight: 1,823kg 

• Trays’ Material: 0Cr18Ni9

MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY

1. Scaffolding is constructed on top and mid platform2. Insulation cladding is removed from head cover and mid platform manway

3. Open manway on mid platform, remove associated piping and perform required blinding

4. Remove bolts of shell on mid platform

5. Park crane on the east side road of the equipment

6. Install slings on the lifting eyes at the top dome

7. Remove the top shell and placed it on ground

8. Install a fabricated lifting jig on the top plate with the help of stud bolts

9. Attach Chain block to crane’s slings for slow lifting of the trays’ bundle 

13 Stud Rods (0Cr18Ni9 and 52 Bolts of SS304)

MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY

10. Slowly lift the trays bundle until they will be free from the shell

11. Remove the complete trays’ bundle and placed it on ground

Clearance between shell and trays’ bundle is 2mm

12. Support the trays’ bundle with the help of scaffolding structure as shown

13. Cleaning and inspection of trays and shell is done

14. Both trays bundle and top shell are installed back

15. Associated piping and manway are boxed up
