Week 6, Term 3 Tena koutou katoa Dear Students, Parents/Caregivers and Community, This week we welcome Deb Woods and Jennifer Coster our Education Review Officers who are coming to our kura - school to do our review. Recently we have had some excellent achievements. Congratulations to all the students who have been helping to make our school even better. I would also like to thank parents and community members who are also pitching in to help in some way. If you hear about something you can help with at school and you can share some expertise please let us know. Last week the Mamaku BOT approved the process to continue with the applications for funding for the new Mamaku School and Community Swimming Pool Complex. The old pool is 63 years old and will not be able to be fixed easily and at a high cost. So after several meetings with different community groups and a lot of research into possible solutions .The plan is to start from scratch and knock down the old pool area. If we get the funding in December to build a pool complex, we would like to build a pool that is at least 20m by 6m, with a deep end. If funding permits we will enclose the pool in a building complex with changing rooms, toilets, showers, heating systems, seating, resources and equipment. Our next “Swimming Pool Committee” is tonight at 5.30pm and new are looking for more members to help. If you have any issues or questions please attend the meeting so you can be informed. Meeting in Room 6 due to numbers. Ngā mihi nui Gary Veysi
