Horticulture sector in Pakistan:• Agriculture plays a major role in Pakistan's economy contributing 25

percent to the GDP.• Pakistan is blessed with fertile land and varied weather. • Horticulture produce holds a huge market for exports. • Pakistan hold a large global market.• because of competitive advantage due to superior variety, volume and

price.• Demand of Pakistani fruits, and vegetables is increasing day by day in

international market.

Pakistan.

• PHDEC created due to the huge potential of Pakistan’s horticulture products in the global market.

Probation of Employee:All appointed employees will be placed on a probationary period

Probationary Period:

• Assistant Managers and below 6 months• Managers and above 6 months

• Confirmation of Employee: after successful completion of the probationary period.

Promotion & Transfers

Promotion:• employee who has completed at last 2 years service in the existing

post/pay scale considered.• in case an employee delivers extraordinary results consistently may relax

the condition of 2 years

Transfer:• Transfer could be made at any time in need of service• Allowances are given to the employees who are transferred• If transferred is made on the request of employee• then no allowances are paid to him.

Leaves:• The PHDEC grants the paid leave to all its employees to allow periods of

rest and relaxation,• which will benefit the employee both mentally and physically.

Leaves Entitlement:• Privilege/Earned Leave: 14 calendar days for each completed year of

service with PHDEC.• Casual Leave: 10 working days• Sick Leave: 15 working days • Leave without Pay: maximum period of 30 days• Compensatory Leave• Pre/Post maternal Leave: 6 Weeks• Public Holidays:

Procedure:• Employees will be filling up Leave application form • forward the application to the HR department• after approval, HR forward the application to department

Head.• Departmental Heads have the authority to

Medical Facility:• PHDEC will provide medical facility to eligible employees and immediate

family (spouse and dependent children). • The medical policy covers the following areas:• Hospitalization • Maternity coverage• Outpatient Medical Coverage(OPD)

Medical Insurance coverage:• Insurance coverage to the eligible employees of the PHDEC as agreed by

the insurance company.• Authority: verification from HR and Administration department is required

for the further processing of case to Health Insurance PHDEB
