    1. What is Quantum foundation?

Quantum foundation deals with a very vague proposition and they run with the motive to make

every individual of Bangladesh healthy. Quantum Method is the science of wellbeing. It starts

with helping change peoples attitude. The new attitude gives birth to new dendrites, i.e. new

connecting paths between the neurons in our brain. The brain becomes vibrant and energized.

The new working structure of the brain gives birth to new thoughts, words and deeds. Anxiety

dissolves in peace, disease in health and failure in success. We live long, healthy, active and

    strong.

Quantum Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to personal growth and serving

humanity. We believe in accomplishing all our programs through self-reliance, self-initiative and

    self-financing.

Through a decade of hard work, they have built the largest donor pool and best equipped blood

center in Bangladesh, saving the lives of more than 2 hundred thousand people. In addition to

setting up hundreds of meditation centers around the country, they are transforming the

community around our meditation resort in Lama, bringing education, health and other services

    to this deprived region.

From mother care to burial, safe drinking water to circumcisions, their charitable programs touch

every aspect of life and bring service where its most needed.

1.1What does 'Quantum' mean? Why it is called quantum?

Quantum Mechanics along with neuroscience and genetic engineering has changed the world

view of modern people. With the advent of Quantum Mechanics, human consciousness has once

again been established as a major actor in natural phenomenon. Science and the teachings of

ancient spiritual masters have been reconciled. This is why we decided to name this modern

scientific representation of eternal truths Quantum Method.

Also, when a person engages in profound meditation his consciousness takes a leap similar to the

Quantum leap of electrons orbiting around the nucleus. This is another reason we were inspired

    to name this Quantum Method.

Finally, the literal meaning of Quantum is the exact or optimum amount. Quantum is the science

  • 2 | P a g e

of living, the science of wellbeing. It helps us establish the optimum balance in our lives. Thus

    the name.

    2. Mission, Vision, Goals

    2.1 Vision

Our VISION is for the people of Bangladesh to enjoy a better life through quality health.

    2.2 Mission

Our mission is to help every human being fulfill his true potential by awakening his inner

power. We are striving together to build great compassionate community, where the value of

every human life will be upheld, where every human being will be able to flourish his unique

talents, enlighten his soul, prosper naturally, and live a meaningful life by serving humanity

    3. Establishment

1972: National Professor Dr. Nurul Islam formally inaugurates the voluntary blood

donation program in Bangladesh by donating his own blood.

1978: Voluntary blood donation movement in Bangladesh starts with the establishment of

Shondhani by Dhaka Medical College students.

1981: Bangladesh Red Crescent Society starts its blood bank based voluntary blood

    donation program.

1982: ORCA, an alumni association for Rajshahi Cadet College Students, starts its

    voluntary blood donation program.

1996: Quantum Foundation enters the world of voluntary blood donation by forming a

    mobile donor pool.

  • 3 | P a g e

1997: Bandhon, an association of voluntary blood donors, is established by Dhaka

    University students.

2000: Quantum Foundation starts a full-fledged blood donation program by establishing

    Quantum Lab.

2003: Modern equipment such as a blood component separator (Centrifuge Machine), an

Elisa Machine for screening, a refrigerator capable of generating temperatures as low as (

) 90 degrees Celsius, and a platelet incubator for storing platelet are added to Quantum

Lab. As a result it is possible to separate different components from whole blood.

2010: Quantum Lab is an international standard blood lab equipped with state-of-the-art

machinery and capable of supplying 8 blood components in addition to whole blood. The

average monthly supply is around 6000 units.

    4. What service do they provide?

    4.1 Blood donations

With an ever increasing number of donors, a fully equipped blood lab, uncompromising attitude

towards safety and round-the clock selfless service, Quantum Voluntary Blood Donation

Program is the most trusted source of blood in Bangladesh. Although we started from zero only

ten years ago, today we supply more than 6000 units of blood and blood components every

    month.

    4.2 Quantum Cosmo school

In Quantum Shishukanon deprived children are blossoming into enlightened human beings. This

residential facility is nurturing the children of the Chittagong Hill Tract area physically,

mentally, emotionally and spiritually, by bringing them every kind of care including education,

health and shelter. As a result, those who seemed destined for a life of ignorance, disease and

poverty are growing up to be the future leaders of the nation.

  • 4 | P a g e

Shishu Kanon started its journey in 2001 with only 7 children from the murong community.

Today more than 300 children representing 15 different indigenous groups and 6 different

religions are blossoming in its shelter. We believe that one day this would be the site of Quantum

Cosmoversity, where people from all over the world would come to be enlightened.

    4.3 Shishu Shodon

Unfortunately in our beloved we often seen abandoned new born babies near streets and we simply

walk past them thinking why someone did that but we never take any initiatives. But to blow this

curse away is shishu shodon who takes good care of these babies.

In March 2004, Quantum Shishu Shodon was established in the Foundations Rajshahi Center to

raise these babies as enlightened human beings. Shishu Shodon takes in babies found abandoned

in various parts of town and provides them with the necessary care.

At present, 11 girls found abandoned in various parts of the country are being brought up under

the direct supervision of Shahida Banu, retired Principal of Nursing Institute, the Honorary

Director of Shishu Shodon. The eldest, named Nadira Tahseen, is now 5 years old. Like Nadira,

these babies, who seemed destined to die a premature death, are now growing up with the love and

affection of all the Quantum family.

    4.4 Mother Care

The matri mongol or Mother Care Program operating in Chittagong and Uttara provides pre and

post-partum care to expecting mothers, including counselling, checkups, regular supply of drugs,

providing one egg per day for nutrition etc. Since the beginning of the program in 2005, care and

treatment has been provided to 179 mothers.

    4.5 Drug Rehabilitation Center

In this age of increasing restlessness, more and more promising lives are being destroyed by drugs.

While many drug rehabilitation centers exist, they often fail to successfully address the underlying

  • 5 | P a g e

causes of the addiction, the deep-rooted emptiness and frustration in the addicts mind. As a result,

the rate of recidivism, or becoming addicted again after rehab, is quite high.

Over the years, many drug addicts have taken part in the Quantum Method Course and successfully

overcome their addiction. Because Quantum Method brings about a comprehensive change in a

persons life view, he or she never needs to look back after taking part in the course.

Inspired by this success, in June 2011, Quantum Foundation established Jibon Amar (Its My Life):

A Drug Rehabilitation Center, in Maskanada, Mymensingh. The goal is to help those suffering

from drug addiction overcome their addiction and resume a normal, healthy, fulfilling life.

The addicts participate in a 8-month rehabilitation program, the first six of which is spent in the

Jibon Amar Rehabilitation Center and the remaining two months in a designated Quantum Center

or Branch. During this time, they awaken their inner strength by participating in meditation,

counseling, group discussion etc. The whole program is designed to instill a sense of strong

confidence and genuine optimism in their minds.

A handful of other services are:

4.6 Burial Service The foundation has taken the initiative to bury or cremate dead bodies that cannot be identified

or cannot be taken care of by the family. A total of 188 dead bodies have been buried or

cremated with full religious rites since the initiation of the program in Rajshahi in 2004. The

program also operates in Narayangonj, Khulna and Lama.

4.7 Safe Drinking Water Setting up water tanks on street sides was the first social service program undertaken by

Quantum. The first tank was set up in Dhaka in 1996. At present, 81 water tanks in various

places ensure passersby have access to safe drinking water. In addition 52 tube wells have been

set up in various places including Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet to provide safe drinking water.

Two ring wells have been set up in Sylhet. Tube-wells have also been set up in the SIDR

    affected areas in Potuakhali.

  • 6 | P a g e

    4.8 Disaster Relief

Since the beginning, Quantum Foundation has stood by the grief-stricken people of Bangladesh

during all major calamities. During the devastating floods of 1998, 2004, and 2007, relief goods,

including more than a hundred thousand packages of oral saline prepared by Quantum

volunteers, were distributed amongst the flood affected people. The inhabitants of several

villages were rehabilitated. In the aftermath of cyclone SIDR, countless Quantum members

donated money equivalent to one day's income or expenditure, and participated in the

distribution of clothes and other relief goods. The foundation took all necessary steps to ensure

that the relief goods reached the neediest of the needy. A team of Quantum Organizers and Pro-

Quantiers visited the worst affected areas in Bagerhat, Potuakhali and Borguna, and selected

areas where no government or non-government aid had been distributed till then. Around 15

thousand pieces of new and old clothes, books and sandals were distributed among more than

    two thousand families.

    4.9 Others

    Charity Healing

    Self-Reliance

    Forestation

    Distribution of Clothes

    5. Main target customer

Quantum foundation have no specific age group or socio economic class target group as their

primary audience. They are ready to each and every human being of Bangladesh. However no

such target group often made their progress difficult as people were unaware of their offerings

and never knew what to expect.

  • 7 | P a g e

    7. The output customers are getting

To simply put in accordance with the tagline of Quantum Foundation, a better life. Quantum

foundations believe that medicine of all the type disease comes from inner peace and they with

their training facilities gives people just the right amount of inner peace so that people can

literally get a better life. Quantum believes meditation can do a world of good to any individual

who is suffering at this moment from whatever the disease is.

    8. Prices at which services are provided Although when it comes to pricing it is not as straight forward as their services are. They take all

different charity funds from all over the world. They have some donors from all age and income

group. They accept all types of donations and recently they also started taking zakat fund into

their charity bank. With all these funds coming through they hardly charge any penny from

customers however if any customers wants to pay then they are entitled to pay whatever they

want and they dont for anything from them. It is just the wish of the customer whether to pay or

not to pay. Although there are misconceptions largely due to people not knowing about the prices

but through we research and interviews we came to know they dont charge any penny.

Although there are standard prices for some of products which they sell in the open market such

as Books, Audio and video cassettes

  • 8 | P a g e

    9. How they convey their message and why they choose

    such media?

They follow traditional flyers/leaflets to promote about their services to their target customers.

With leaflets/flyers they can explain their motives and services in a much more detailed way then

they can do with mass media TVC or billboards. Although they have certain billboards and not

to an extent where it can be said that it is one of their prime media.

  • 9 | P a g e

The above leaflets shows a detailed outline of all the services they provide and why should

someone take such services. In the world of advancement and technology Quantum foundation

do have their own static website and rather back dated Facebook page. But it is through these

different labeled leaflets that their message is strongly conveyed.

  • 10 | P a g e

    10. Conclusion

Quantum foundation has been always hit by criticism mainly for their effectiveness, in

Bangladesh people still rely on medicines and not working out to cure their diseases. So quantum

foundation has to fight with traditional allopath medicine and also with homeopath medicine and

establish their point in the field. Although quantum method has been a successful venture in

many countries but they still lag behind when it to come to South East Asia and when it comes to

the context of Bangladesh they are falling even more behind. But there is light in the end of the

tunnel as more and more people are now showing intent to learn about quantum which will

definitely bring about something very positive for Quantum foundation Bangladesh.
