Advanced document co-authoring with real-time updates and ability to chat with active collaborators

When a MangoApps document is open, user will get instant notifications about

• Other users Viewing and editing the same document

• New/Updated version of the document is available on account of others saving their changes online

• Someone locks/Checks-out or unlocks/Check-in a document

A list of all the active collaborators is available from the MangoApps tab

in the plugin. User can click on a collaborator from the list to start chat

with them.

User can also choose to leave a comment in the MangoApps feed where

the document was attached/uploaded.

Drafts for offline editing of MangoApps documents.

• Drafts in MangoApps office plugin allow users to save a MangoApps document

on their local computer/storage. These documents are therefore accessible even

when the user is not connected to the internet.

• Users can make changes to drafts and continue to save them locally while

offline. Once the document is ready selecting ‘Save Online’ will upload the

changed document to MangoApps and notify other collaborators of the update.

• If a save of a MangApps document from the plugin fails, it gets automatically

saved as a draft that is accessible offline and can be saved/uploaded at a later

time. This way the user does not lose the changes he/she made to the

document.

Share a document or Folder

Users can now share a document from the MangoApps tab inside the Office plugin and the files tab in the desktop application.

The share dialog allows them to view the current list of users/teams this file is currently shared with. Users can also add more users/teams from this dialog along with specifying what type of access they would like to grant (Editor, Owner, Viewer or No Access). There is also a link provided that will take you to the MangoApps web based share for actions like changing existing rights, un-sharing, etc.

Lock/Checkout office documents

When a document is shared with multiple users in a team, it is sometimes needed for a user to control edits to the document and ensure only his/her changes are saved. Locking the document ensures other users can not save changes to that document online. Every collaborator can still make edits to the document and save it locally as a draft. However before they can save the changes online, the document lock has to be released.
