MEOS Q1 2015 Summary The national net employment outlook is up one point to +7%, from +6% last

quarter – an increase in optimism after a surprise dip last quarter.

The outlook for the country’s big businesses rose to +21%, its highest level

since 2005, when Manpower began recording outlook by organisation size.

Finance and business services fell to its weakest level since 2012. The

sector dropped to +9, the first time in two years optimism has dipped below

double figures.

The Utilities sector surged four points to+16% and the top of the sector table

– its highest level in more than two years.

Construction rose nine points to +9, making Q1, 2015 its most upbeat for 30

quarters.

Public/private sector breakdown* Private sector hiring intentions fell marginally to +5.

Public sector intentions returned to positive territory (+2), a rise of 7 points.

The Outlook for not-for-profits is unchanged on +2.
