2. BASIC OPERATION

The load weigh device CAN-RTM is a device with a great flexibility. It can work with several diameters and diferent kind of sensors. The sensors also can be easily changed or remove. Due to This flexibility is necessary to set some parameters before installing and calibratind the CANRTM.

2.1 Parameters that must be set before the installation of the CANRTM

nSen: Number of Sensors. This parameter must be set with the number of ropes of the installation. The range values are 3 to 10 ropes This comand can be ser Via Keyboard or Via Bus can with comand

SetnSEn

dIA: Diameter of ropes. This parameter must be set with the diameter of the ropes of the installation. This comand can be modified via Keyboard or Via CAN Bus with command Set_Rope_Diameter

tYPE: Type of installation. This parameter is mandatory to be set before any calibration of the load weighting device. The posible values for the installation are 1:1 or 2:1.

This comand can be ser Via Keyboard or Via Bus can with comand Set_Rope_Config

2.2 How to calibrate CANRTM at the installation.

Once the initial parameters have been set, it is possible to calibrate the CANRTM. This calibration can be set via keyboard or via CAN BUS. The calibration must be done in the order described 2.2.1 Step 1: Installing the sensors.

First of all, the number of sensors set in nSen parameter must be plugged on each USB conector.

Sensor #1 must be plugged to the USB conector on the left side. And next sensors should be added adjusted from left to the right side.

2.2.2 Step 2: IrEF operation

Every sensor plugged at the USB Conectors has an offset error. This error is eliminated just setting and Initial reference of the senor. The initial reference operation must be done for all sensors. Later, if any sensor would be change or added, the iRef operation should be done to the new sensor individually. Note 1: It is mandatory to do this operation with the sensors unplugged to the ropes of the Instalation.

Note 2: CAN-BUS Comand = SetInitalReference.

2.2.3 Step 3: Zero Setting Operation

Now it is time to eliminate the weight of the cabin in the calibration

process. First of all, each sensor must be connected to the ropes. Then you

could start the zero operation by pressing the key . Select “Yes” by

pressing Key and finally confirm by pressing the key . After the cero operation has done, the display will keep on blinking(when showing the total mesaure) until the Peso operation had been done.

Note: CAN-BUS Comand = SetCero.

2.2.4 Step 4: Peso Setting operation

To adjust this parameter it is necessary to introduce a well-known weight into the cabin. This known weigh must be indicated to The CANRTM via keyboard or via CAN-BUS.( Via comand SetPeso) . The

weight introduce to the cabin must be set in Pounds ( lb). Push key

And set the known weigh. Then push key and confirm the new value. When the Peso operation had been set and confirmed, The Measure in the display will stop blinking, and the calibration process was finished.

Note: CAN-BUS Comand = SetPeso.

2.3 How to change Parameters in the display. There are three diferent keys at CANRTM

Menu Key: This key is used to enter and navigate through programing menu. This key is used also to confirm any modification of the parameters. When a parameter is modified, you must press menu key to confirm the changed value, the display will blink for some seconds, and you can confirm the new value just pressing this key again. If Menu key is not pressed as the display blinks, the value won´t be changed.

Right Key: This key is used to access modification mode of any parameter when displayed. This key is used to change the blinking digit at modifying mode.

Up Key: This key is used to increased the value of the blinking digit at modifying mode.

Example:

If you press you enter on navigating menu. To acess any parameter you mus press key And you will see the first digit blinking

If you press key, the blinking digit will increase its value.
