3. Presentation

3.1. The furnaceThe Bio-Sol furnace has a unique solution where the pellet furnace and accumulator have been integrated into acompact unit. The furnace can work with pellets, oil, solar and electrical energy. The furnace has a cylindrical standing accumulator tank with a biomass fuel furnace built into the upper part. In thetank there are loops to receive solar heating and to produce hot water. This makes the furnace compact, easilyassembled and energy efficient. The furnace is made of 6 mm steel sheeting and the convection part comprises 8 horizontal pipes with a diameter of67 mm.In so far as the furnace is built into the accumulator tank it always maintains an even temperature. This means thatthe furnace is always dry and that it is exposed to minimal strains because of temperature stress and corrosion.

3.2. InsulationThe furnace is equipped with very effective insulation made of all of 90 mm of CFC free moulded polyurethanefoam. The polyurethane foam is fire protected (class B2) and moulded together with a surface layer of aluminiumsheet. The cover has a surface layer of flame protected plastic (class V0)The insulation comprises three parts. Two halves and a top.

3.3. The radiator circuitThe furnace has been provided with two feed outlets and two return connections. The lower feed outlet in the centre of the furnace is intended for extraction of solar energy for the radiator circuit andworks paired with the upper outlet that gives full heating. The return can be coupled to the middle outlet or the lower connection that is also the draw off and fillingconnection. If solar heating is used the return will always be coupled to the middle connection.

3.4. Solar loop and warm water tap loopsHot water is produced via two 12 m copper loops with a common diameter of 22 mm coupled in series. The firstloop is assembled in the tank’s lower part in parallel with the solar loop. This loop takes in cold water and retrievesenergy from the lower part of the tank and at the same time it preheats the hot water. In the upper loop the water latergets its final heat. The coupling of the lower and the upper loops has been done in the tank where also a T connectionhas been installed. These connections are brought to the top of the furnace.

One 12 m solar loop with a diameter of 18 mm brings in solar heat to the tank’s lower part. Through the arrangementwith the hot water loops and the low temperature that is created in the tank’s lower part the solar heating is alwaysused at a maximum.

3.5. ToolsThe furnace is very easy to operate and comfortable to work with. All work can be carried out at a comfortable workheight when the hatch has been opened. The ash is collected in the easily handled ash box that accompanies thefurnace. Soot cleaning tools are delivered with the furnace.

3.6. Burner and other optional equipmentThe furnace can be delivered with optional equipment according to the customer’s wishes. The furnace works bestwith a burner that gives a forward flame.Descriptions of these equipments are referred to the respective unit’s manual/instruction sheet.

4. General safety rules

4.1. Safety rules in generalThe furnace is designed for pellet burning combined with electrical and solar heating. The maximum operating pressure is 2.5 bar not to be exceeded. The normal operating temperature is 75 - 80ºC and the maximum temperature is 100ºC. The maximum temperaturemust not be exceeded.

To prevent burn damage or fire the furnace is provided with breakers that stop the burner if the hatch is opened.Always check that the burner is off before the hatch is opened.

Take into consideration also that the hatch and the burner as well as the furnace’s exhaust fume channel can be hot.

When the furnace is cleaned the burner must be off and the fire quenched before the hatch is opened.Take into consideration that when the hatch is opened open flame is exposed. Flammable fluids or other easilyignitable materials must not be in the vicinity then.

Use safety gloves when working with the interior parts of the furnace.

The metering screw is governed by the burner and can therefore start without warning. The screw must be electrically detached before being handled manually, for example cleaning or service.

Regarding other operation of the burner and screw reference is made to the respective manual.

4.2. Safety rules for installationRemember that the furnace has a high center of gravity before it is fulfilled with water prior to installation.

The furnace is to be assembled on a flat and sturdy support and be turned up to a vertical position. The support mustbe dimensioned to carry at least 1000 kg.

5. Operating controls/instruments

5.1. Thermostat. Thermometer. The furnace is provided with a thermostat for adjustment of the furnace’s operating temperature and the overheatprotection that activates at too high temperature. Three thermometers show the temperature in the tank at the top, inthe middle and at the bottom. Sensors for the furnace thermostat and overheat protection and electricity cartridge areinstalled in so-called plungers in the furnace’s upper part. Sensors for the solar system are installed in plungers on thetank’s lower part. Sensors for thermometers are fixed in pipes on the outside of the tank.

5.2. The burnerOperating and adjustment controls for the burner are described in the manual for the burner.

6. The furnace’s function

6.1. BurningThe burning takes place mainly in the pellet burner. The purpose of the furnace is to make use of the energy in thehot gases and to separate out ash and dust. The hot combustion gases flow into the furnace in the large deep lower volume where the ash box is. Ash and dustfall down here. Then the gas turns up in the furnace’s rear part and comes into the four lower pipes. Then the gasturns against the furnace metal sheet placed behind the hatch and goes via the four upper pipes out to the chimney.

6.2. Heat radiator circuit

Normal arrangement:The feed outlet is on the top of the furnace side (top feed). This should be coupled to the ventilating valve, safetyvalve, shunt valve and circulation pump for further transport to the radiators in the house. The expansion vesselconnected to the lower connection point should be dimensioned for the system’s total water volume. The target valuefor a closed vessel is about 10% of the total volume and for an open vessel 5 % can be sufficient. The return pipe goes into the tank in the middle via a diffuser that lets the return water be allocated slowly to thefurnace without the temperature layers in the furnace being destroyed. (upper radiator return (solar)).

Low temperature outlet:An additional feed outlet is in the middle of the furnace (middle feed). This outlet mainly makes it possible to use thesolar energy produced in the tank’s lower part and only when this is not sufficient shunt in hot water from thefurnace’s upper connection.

Winter arrangement:If the solar system is not connected or during the darkest winter months the return piping can be reconfigured so thatthe return water flows into the tank via the lower connection (return/filling/drawing off). This means that the entiretank’s water volume is intermixed in the system and the burner gets a larger quantity of water to heat. This means thatthe burner must work for longer intervals and the number of ignitions for the burner decreases. Observe that thisconnection should not be used if the system is to receive solar energy.

Summer arrangement:When the furnace been coupled to the solar system the solar panels load the tank with energy a large part of the year.A supply of peak energy is needed, however, more during autumn, winter and spring than during the summer. Thepeak energy can be allocated in various ways. With burners that start and stop automatically pellet heat can be usedand for smaller needs it is appropriate to use electricity.During the summer when the need of extra energy is small pellet heating is less effective and it is most often moreeconomical to use electricity as peak energy for the sun.Pellet burners are not yet equipped with appliances that close off incoming air when they are not ignited. This meansthat there is always a certain ventilation through the burner fan and the furnace to the chimney. If the system is to beoptimised during the summer and use electricity as extra energy the draught limiter can be disassembled or opened, whereupon there will be free ventilation in the chimney. The temperature adjustment on the electricity cartridge canalso be lowered to about 50ºC without risking condensation in the furnace. Thus it is possible for the sun to take overas large a part of the system as possible.

When it is time to start pellet heating again is it only necessary to reassemble or to close the draught limiter and tostart the burner. N.B.! Do not forget this before starting the burner!

6.3. Hot water heater.Hot water is produced by two series 12 m cam loops made of copper D 22 mm. (throughput heater). The first loop isplaced in the bottom part of the furnace and the other one in the top part of the furnace. When warm water is drawncold tap water flows into the lower loop’s inlet part where preheating takes place to then be heated to full heat in theupper loop. Both loops are coupled together in the tank. One T connection is assembled between the lower and the upper loopand a connection pipe is brought from this point to the top of the furnace. This makes it possible to get dilution waterto the mixing valve via the preloop. The solar efficiency increases then since more energy is got from the bottom ofthe tank via the colder preloop and more scope for solar energy is created.Observe that an additional mixing valve must be assembled that takes its dilution water directly from the cold waterpipe to ensure the correct temperature during daylight-saving time when the sun can heat up to high temperatures inthe entire tank.Warm tap water should not be held at a higher temperature than 60oC at the taps (eliminate the risk of burns).

Calcium that is always in the water in greater or smaller quantities can stick in pipes and other hot water devices inthe house while heating. This problem can be solved simply with a so-called calcium remover assembled on the inletpipe for cold water.

Utg. 19 Page 7

In our proposed connection how connections can assembled for elimination of calcium through circulation ofcalcium elimination liquid through the loops is also given.

6.4. Solar heating. The solar heating loop is assembled in the furnace’s cold lower part, in parallel with the lower warm water loop.Through this arrangement effective possibilities are created to make use of the solar energy from the solar panels. The colder the environment around the solar loop is the greater the amount of solar energy is that can be obtainedand the earlier or the later in the year the solar energy can be used.

6.5. Electric heatingAn electricity cartridge is included as standard and is assembled over the middle of the furnace. It is provided withan indicator light that shows when the electricity cartridge is on.During the heating season the electricity cartridge functions as a safety measure and turns on to heat if the pelletburner stops for some reason. It follows that the electricity cartridge should be adjusted for activation at atemperature under the pellet burner’s switching on temperature. Check that the electricity cartridge does not turn onwhen the burner is in operation – the indicator light should be off.During the summer half-year the electricity cartridge can very well work along with the solar heating and add peakenergy if the solar heating is not sufficient. If there is no solar heating connected the electricity cartridge can produce hot water if so desired during the summerinstead of the pellet burner.

7. Installation

7.1. Unpacking and transport to the furnace room. The furnace is delivered with insulation and other parts assembled. Always check that there is no transport damagebefore work with the furnace begins.

Before the furnace is moved to its place as a rule the insulation must be disassembled so that the furnace can behandled.• Begin by disassembling the steel band on the bottom part of the furnace.• Unscrew the fitting plates around the smoke gas outlet. Note their locations.• Loosen the screws in the fitting plate around the hatch and on the instrument panel’s right side. Let theplates remain on the furnace.• If the furnace is to be transported horizontally to the furnace room the hatch must be disassembled and theinstrument panel tied up. (see advice at the end of this manual).• Disassemble the lock nut and steel tray on the feed pipe outlet on the top part of the furnace.• Lift off the cover and pull the insulation halves apart.

The furnace is now naked except the hatch and instrument panel and it then has a diameter of 75 cm and can behandled more easily and moved without risk of damage. However be careful with the copper pipe connectors thatstick out. (see also advice with pictures at the end of this manual).

Utg. 19 Page 8

Tips for handling the furnace during installation Use the wrapping that comes with the furnace. Saw, hammer and nails and one tension strap are the tools that areneeded.

Remove the furnace isolation. Leave the fittings and the instrument panel onthe front. Loosening the screws helps somewhat.Dismantle the hatch and hitch the instrument panel so that it does not fallforward when the furnace is laid down. Also hitch up the opening breaker so that it is not damaged.

Build the „skid“. The stops and crosstie bolts should be placedso that they pass free of the hatch hinges and so that they aresupported against the interior walls of the furnace body. Turn anyknotty parts in the boards against the lower part of the furnace(strength) and preferably let the boards’ extension stick up overthe top of the furnace. However remember the ceiling height inthe furnace room.Assemble the „skid“ in the furnace body and buckle it to atransport trap passing through the furnace and out through thechimney outlet.Tie it down well.

With the furnace on the skid it does not roll around and it is easier to handle if it must be moved in ahorizontal position.A T pipe mounted in one of the sleeves is a good place to put an iron bar through to make a comfortablehandhold.

Utg. 19 Page 9

7.2. Erection and assembly of the insulation.Put the furnace in place on a permanent and hard support and align it so that it stands vertically. Take intoconsideration the load carrying capacity where the furnace stands. The completely assembled furnace with waterweighs about 1,000 kg.

The insulation must be assembled before the tubes and pipes are assembled.• Check that the sheets of mineral wool and the soft mineral wool around the furnace’s front edge and aroundthe smoke outlet are undamaged and in place.• Check that the pipes and sensors for the thermometers, overheat protection and thermostat are undamagedand in place.• Lift forward and push the two insulation halves. See that strut and outer shell are correctly in place when thehalves are pressed against each other.• Fit an ordinary transport strap around the insulation with a clean protective sheet under the tension device.(protection for the insulation).• Tension the strap and check that the insulation halves move together.• Assemble the steel band around the lower edge and screw down on the furnace front with the two sheetmetal screws. Also here use a tension strap to make the steel band press all round the insulation as tight as possible.Drill new holes for fastening screws if necessary. It is important that the steel band seals tight against the floor. If there is any unevenness it must be sealed withadditional sheet metal and mineral wool insulation.• Assemble the fittings on the furnace’s backside around the smoke gas outlet.• Check that the soft seal in the cover is intact and close the cover. (If there is little headroom the cover can beput on top of the furnace before the furnace is erected.)• The cover can be tightened down with the aid of a transport strap fitted between the chimney outlet over thecover and to an appropriate fastening on the furnace’s front edge.• Put the big washer over the feed pipe on the topside of the furnace and screw down with the big cover nut.• Screw down the fitting plate and the instrument panel. Tighten the screws carefully so that the threads donot release in the insulation material. (see picture collection at the end of this document).• Assemble the back furnace hatch if it has been disassembled. N.B.! It is very important that the hatchdefinitely seals tight against the furnace body. Adjustment can be done by screwing the hinges out or in when thesuspension bolts are disassembled.

Assembly of insulation on Bio-Sol furnaceThe furnace ready for assembly of the three part insulation

The two halves are pressed together bya transport strap.N.B.! the protector under the tighteningwinch.Be careful that the grooves in theinsulation halves fit into each otherwell.

See that the mineral insulationis placed correctly around theelectrical cartridge and at thecapillary tube input. Likewisearound the exhaust gas outletand the furnace front edge.Check that temperature metersare correctly seated in theirplungers.

Assemble the cover. Check that the fibre gasket is in place all around.Press the cover down and lock it with the catch on the furnace top.

Assemble the steel strap on the lower part of the furnace.Especially see to it that the steel band seals tightly against the floor.Seal with mineral wool and supplement with additional sheet metal ifthe floor is irregular and there is a gap between the floor and theinsulation. The distance between floor and isolation should not be morethan 5 mm.

7.3. Assembly of connections

Pipe connections:• Assemble the pipe connections for heating and hot water and any solar heating.Connection to the copper pipes is done with clamp ring connections whereby the risk of heating the factory solderjoints is eliminated.Alternatively solder joints can be made. It is then important that they are carried out according to these instructionsand with the specified solder. This is a condition for Stocksbro Energy’s guarantee obligation to apply. The temperature intervals between different types of solder are small. There is therefore a risk that soldering doneduring the production in the factory is damaged - risk of leakage. In production Castolin 18 XFC was used with a bond temperature of 850ºC.We recommend use of Castolin 11020 XFC with a bond temperature of 600ºC at the installation. Note that for use offlux it is active for a maximum of 5 minutes.Stocksbro Energi AB pressure tests all tanks during production and no tank is approved or delivered if it is notfaultless after this check.• Before the hot water system is put in use after installation it must be rinsed clean properly.

Electricity connection:• Two main breakers for electricity to the furnace (furnace and electricity cartridge) must be assembled in thefurnace room so that it is possible to interrupt the power without entering the furnace room.• Connect the furnace’s 220 V to the main breaker for the furnace.• Connect the electricity cartridge’s 3 phase to the main breaker for the electricity cartridge.• When an electricity cartridge with more than 6 kilowatts has been assembled a power monitor must beinstalled to eliminate direct reconnection after power interruptions.• All electrical installations must be carried out by an authorized electrician.

7.4 Attachment to the chimney - assembly of the chimney.

The sleeve coupling (square) for the chimney to the furnace is delivered loosealong with an adapter for the draught limiter and the start piece for standardchimneys. These parts are to be assembled and sealed properly with theaccompanying putty. The downward connection should not be used for smokepipes but it is intended for use as a cleaning opening. The smoke pipe straightback can be uninsulated if desired.

If the connections that go up or to the sides are used the smoke pipe nearest the furnace should be insulated. Here type certified products from NSP are used.

• Begin by deciding which connections are to be used for the chimney pipe and which connection is to beused for the draught limiter.

• Assemble the adapter for the draught limiter. Apply glue to the flat abutment surface, press the adapter intothe hole on the chimney sleeve coupling and fold back the sheet metal tabs on the inside of the sleeve.Make sure to press the adapter properly in place.

• Assemble the square chimney sleeve coupling in the furnace. Apply sealing putty on the abutment surfacesbefore it is fitted into the furnace. Screw down hard with screws on the sides and the top side. Sealthereafter with sealing putty all round so that the connection is fully sealed.

Options!Adaptation to existing chimneys. There are moreparts in the assortment.

Page 12: Manual for the Bio-Sol furnace - pellxusa.com · Utg. 19 Page 2 Manual for the Bio-Sol furnace. Modell P4 GB 2,5 1. Preface Thank you for placing your order with us to deliver a Bio-Sol

Utg. 19 Page 12

• If the connection of the chimney pipe is to go backward the uninsulated start piece can be used and itslength adapted to the brickwork in the house’s chimney.

• If the chimney is to be connected on any of the upward alternatives, an insulated start module should beassembled right or left. Continue construction with chimney modules up to the house’s chimney. (Option)

• The start module is connected to its hole in the chimney sleeve coupling and glued with the accompanyingsealing putty.

• Assemble the draught limiter on its sleeve coupling. Screw it down with sheet metal screws.Set basis values. The appropriate underpressure should be between 15 and 20 Pa.

• Assemble the caps for the unused smoke pipe exits.

Take advice from the chimney sweep about the chimney’s condition and appropriateness before assembly. Theinstallation will be inspected by the chimney sweep in the municipality before it is put in use.

7.5. The burner. The burner is to be installed in the furnace’s hatch. The adaptor on the hatch as well as the furnace’s electrical systemis designed to fit the burner ordered for the furnace. It is very important that the burner connection to the hatch is entirely sealed. Use heat resistant sealing material orsealants such as high temperature silicone between the burner and the hatch.

7.6. Metering apparatus.Pellets are fed to the burner with the aid of the metering apparatus governed by the burner. Usually a pellet screw isused for this. The screw is hung over the burner and connected to it with special hosing. Arrange the screw so that it is possible toopen the hatch without bumping the screw and so that the hose can be lifted off the burner. A certain inclination ofthe hose should be sought since the pellets then have a lower fall speed down into the burner and the pellets cannotfall down into the burner if the hose melts off.The suspension must be so stable that the screw cannot fall down during operation. The hose is cut to the correctlength and provided with a connection attachment in the bottom so that it can be connected to the burner withouttools. The screw must not have too high an inclination angle to function satisfactorily. The maximum inclination angle is45º.

7.7. Start upAfter the furnace has been installed it is filled up with water via the drawing off/filling connection on the bottom ofthe tank. Make sure to open for air on the top of the furnace to make the system air free and so that overpressure doesnot arise in the tank (maximum 2.5 bar).Check the seals in the connections to the furnace and the rest of the installation after filling. The smoke pipe must be connected to the chimney and the draught limiter assembled in one of the smoke pipeconnections. Unused smoke outlets must be closed with the accompanying covers. It is also important that there be openings in the furnace room that can let in air to the burner. (at least the same areafor inlet as the chimney’s area). The burner must be attached to the furnace’s sensors (furnace thermostat and overheat protection). The screw’s cablemust be attached to the burner.Switch the central switch for the furnace on.Then follow the instructions for the burner for start up and ignition.

Before the plant is put in use the chimney sweep in the municipality must approve the installation.

Three screws attach the squaresleeve coupling to the furnace

Glue all round with theaccompanying glue.

The sleeve coupling for the draught limiter isglued and locked by folding the sheet metal onthe inside backward

The sheet metal cover is pushed in to the chimney sleevecoupling. The sleeve coupling is glued all round. Continue withstandard chimney components to the necessary length.

8. Operation and maintenance

8.1. Adjustment

Furnace:Adjustment of the furnace takes place using the turbolators that are delivered as standard. The furnace is veryefficient and the temperature of the smoke gases can therefore become so low that moisture from the smoke gasescondenses out in the chimney. The burner’s efficiency and furnace temperature also influence the smoke gastemperature. Recommended furnace temperature when fired is 75 - 80ºC.To prevent damage the furnace should be adjusted so that the smoke gas temperature in the chimney is above the dewpoint.Target value: the exhaust fume temperature in the outlet from the furnace should be 150 - 170ºC with closed draughtlimiter. The safest measurement point for correct adjustment is in the chimney a meter down from the top of thechimney. Here when fired the temperature should be 70 - 80ºC when the burner is running. Therefore if the system is to be optimized it is necessary to set the smoke gas temperature as low as possible withoutgetting condensation in the chimney.Always check that condensation does not occur in the chimney or the furnace when the operating temperature hasbeen reached.

With turbolators the resistance through the furnace increases, heat transfer in the convection package becomes moreeffective and the efficiency is improved. If the resistance becomes too high there is the risk that the burner gets toohot. Check the temperature on the case pipe by feeling it by hand. The temperature on the pipe above the point wherethe pipe is slanted down in the burner must not get so high than it is not possible to hold a hand there. Consider alsothat the resistance through the furnace increases when the furnace becomes sooty. Carelessness with cleaning and ashremoval from the furnace can entail a risk of batch fire in the burner.

The temperature is regulated by varying the length that the turbolator is permitted to move in the tube pipe. Full in =maximum power. Some different alternatives with approximate values are given below for the smoke gases to the chimney for high andlow power situations for a PellX burner and at about 25 kilowatt of power. The fume temperature decreases for lowerburner power.Situation 2 is a good starting point at start up.

1.) 2.) 3.)25 kW 25 kW 25 kW

150°C/110°C 170°C/140°C 190°C/150°C

If the temperature needs to be increased in the smoke gases the turbolators can be taken away entirely. A further helpwith increasing the smoke gas temperature in the chimney is to insulate the smoke pipe between the furnace and thechimney with mineral wool. A higher furnace temperature, higher burner power and a higher return temperature ofthe water from the radiators also increases the smoke gas temperature and helps keep the furnace and chimney dry.

Draught limiter:The draught limiter (standard equipment) is to be assembled on one of the smoke pipe connections. N.B.! Thedraught limiter is to be assembled vertically and the limiter’s tilting bearing edge must lie horizontally for it tofunction correctly. The need of draught is set by changing the adjustment weights’ positions on the adjustment screws so that thedistance ”a” in mm corresponds to the correct number of Pa on the adjustment scale. Then the adjustment is locked

by screwing down the weights against each other. The target value for normal houses is 15 - 20 Pa.

Burner and metering apparatus:See the respective manufacturer’s manual.

8.2. Running operation and maintenanceOperation and maintenance of the furnace is limited to cleaning the soot and removal of ashes and checking theoperating temperature and water levels and pressures in the furnace.

The draught limiter function should also be checked. The tilting bearing is to be cleaned when necessary.

The burner’s safety devices are to be checked regularly (see the manual for the burner). The metering apparatus as well as the pellet store are also units that must be checked for adequate function.

The power in the furnace depends on the furnace being clean inside. Cleaning the soot and emptying the ash shouldtherefore take place regularly to achieve the best energy transfer. The intervals for this depend on the energy output.Cleaning the soot and removal of the ash needs therefore to take place more often during the winter than during thesummer. The ash box has a large volume and depending on how the pellet store has been arranged the furnace cannormally run without monitoring for several weeks. However, the intervals must not be so long that the ash boxoverflows and the ash prevents the burner from working freely. (risk of overheating the burner and interference withoperation).A good rule is to carry out these monitoring activities at certain times once a week on a certain weekday. Then thereis no risk that this is forgotten.

8.3. Removal of the ash and cleaning the sootStop the burner by turning off the power. Check that the burner has actually stopped before opening the hatch.Use safety gloves made of leather.

Open the furnace hatch. Leave the furnace’s upper metal sheet assembled to begin with so that the smoke is suckedfrom the burner into the furnace and smoke in the furnace room can be avoided. Pull out the ash box severaldecimetres. Check the burner’s flame volume and scrape any hard pieces and ash in the burner pipe down to thedrawn-out ash box.

Then lift the furnace’s upper metal sheet out. Use the soot rake as a tool. Pull the turbolators out and shake off thesoot into the ash box. N.B.! Note how they are placed so that they can be reassembled in the same place. (adjustmentof the furnace)Sweep down the ash on the front of the convection part in the ash box.Push the ash box in. Use the round soot brush and pull it through all the pipes.

Reassemble the turbolators and the furnace’s upper metal sheet.

Then empty the ash box in appropriate containers. Use sheet metal vessels with covers. Keep or empty ash preferablyoutdoors in a place safe from fire.

Put the ash box back and close the hatch.Start the burner and check that it works correctly.

It can be necessary to clean the exhaust fume channel and the volume in the rear part of the furnace between the sootcleanings. This is carried out by scraping the ash and soot down through the hatch/cover in the exhaust fume channel,or alternatively sucking it out using an ash trap and a vacuum cleaner. With a sufficiently long tube from the ash trapthis can be carried out from the front of the furnace. This cleaning is also carried out by the chimney sweep in connection with cleaning the soot in the chimney. The ash trap or separator is an accessory for use along with usual vacuum cleaners. It is an accessory that makes thework easier and that is recommended.

8.4. The burner and the metering apparatusThe operation and maintenance of the burner and metering apparatus takes place according to the manuals for theseunits.
