• The part of the R&D in the GDP has increased twice during last 5 years to exceed 1 % in 2006 and to reach 1.25 % by 2009,

• The major players affecting Tunisia research and in the same time involved in research are:– Research laboratories (RL)

– Research Units (RU)

– Sciences and computer engineering

• 7 laboratories out of a total of 139 which is a percentage of 5%

• 244 researchers and teachers-researchers

• 520 Third Cycle students (including 310 doctoral students) out of a total of 3510.

• 39 publications in indexed magazines out of a total of 790 which is a percentage of 5%.
