EXISTING LARGE PARKING PLACESAs most suburban areas, the zone-based urban planning have led to the demand of parking places, this holds true also for Ganddal. Most parking places are arranged in connection with commerce - but also some apartmenthouses or row houses have separate squares only for parking cars.

EXISTING PUBLIC PROGRAMSThe existing public programs centers on the primary school, the large park by the river and lake and a couple of physicians offices and kindergardens. Except from the large school yard, the places do not have certain attractions that can tempt people to come there and to stay there.

Most public places outside have preserved the natural surroundings and the furnishing is only for small children, not for larger groups of the population.

EXISTING COMMERCEAlso the local commerce have focused on the customers with cars. Very few of the places to use money have established an attractive path for pedestrians. None of the buildings with commerce is adapted to pedestrian customers. Interestingly, many of the businesses have started in a residence building that was turned into a building with commerce.
