JEAN-JACQUES ROUSSEAU
HIS BIOGRAPHY
Jean-Jacques Rousseau, born June 28, 1712 in Geneva and died July 2, 1778 at Ermenonville, is a writer,
philosopher and musician Geneva French.
He is one of the most illustrious philosophers of the Enlightenment and one of the founders of the French Revolution. All claim to him. The revolutionaries, from
one extreme to another, say "do not walk the Social Contract in hand." Ironically, the theorists of
revolution-cons (Joseph de Maistre, Louis-Gabriel de Bonald) claim them as Rousseau. He was regarded by
Arthur Schopenhauer as "the greatest of modern moralists."
