The EASTER 2nd Collection At Easter, we honor and thank our 614 priests of the Archdiocese of Boston. Our priests celebrate our joys, comfort us in times of crisis or sorrow, and are there during the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life. Together, they represent thousands of years of dedicated service to Christ and to all of us. Remember priests such as Father Doolan who have made a meaningful difference in your life, and consider honoring him with a generous gift to today’s collection for the Clergy Health & Retirement Trust. All are welcome to make a gift online at clergyfunds.org or use the donation envelopes that will be provided. On behalf of the priests who have devoted their lives to serving the Church, thank you for your prayers and generous support.
HUNGERING FOR CELEBRATION We prayed, fasted and gave alms– and now we celebrate! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice
Bowl ends in our own hearts, where Jesus reigns forever. Let us rejoice in our risen Lord– and in the lives we’ve changed this Lent in Columbia, Laos, Rwanda, Honduras, Madagascar and all over the world! Don’t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at a mass this weekend.

Father Bullock Lecture on April 2, 2016 The 11th Annual Lecture in memory of Father Robert W. Bullock, our late beloved pastor, will be held on April 2, 2016 beginning at 6:00 PM in O’Connell Hall. Our lecturer will be Rabbi Joseph Meszler, of Temple Sinai in Sharon. Rabbi’s topic will be “Mercy and Justice in the Context of our Current Times.” If you wish to donate please send check to OLOS at Rectory. Thank you!! ************************************************************************************************ We have journeyed for 40 days through Lent with Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving. Now, we celebrate not only on Easter Sunday but for the 50 days of the Easter Season, culminating on Pentecost, May 15th.
During this joyous season, we will celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). Children will be welcomed into the OLOS family at baptisms throughout the season. First Eucharist will be celebrated on May 7, 8, 14 and 15, with Confirmation occurring on May 13. All year long our second graders, tenth graders, their teachers and families, along with parishioners, have been preparing for these important more intense moments of grace. Our second and tenth graders have participated in many classes and a Retreat each. Confirmation students have also embarked on Service Trips throughout the year, as well as embraced reflection upon their experiences. May the community's active presence and participation at these celebrations cause all of us to reflect on the gifts of the Spirit and grace in our own lives and in the life of our parish community.
Please join us in praying for our youth, from the tiniest to those on the verge of adulthood.

What’s Happening at OLOS
My friends, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis has deemed this year as a Jubilee year of Mercy. By drawing our attention to this it has caused me to recognize how mercy is so much a part of scripture and prayer as we celebrate the Eucharist. This has been a wonderful enhancement to my prayer and reflection during this season of Lent. God’s mercy for us beckons us to reconciliation, peace and love. It challenges us to be merciful to others. It humbles us to accept mercy and kindness from one another. As we celebrate the Resurrection this Easter, let us also see that mercy brings us joy. This Lent, many of us chose to offer sacrifice and mercy by using the rice bowls provided by CRS. This act of mercy called us to reflect on the poor and the hungry. Our response is truly an act of mercy. I would like to offer this prayer for our endeavor:
Loving God, you call us to be good stewards of creation and of all the gifts you have blessed us with. As we end our Lenten journey, walking with our brothers and sisters around the world who are hungry and in need, we pray that these, our Lenten sacrifices, may be an offering of solidarity and a promise of continued work on behalf of all the poor and vulnerable people. As good stewards of your many gifts, may we always remember to love our neighbors as ourselves. And wherever we feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty or clothe the naked, may we remember that we are encountering the risen Christ. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
May the Risen Christ bless you and your family with mercy and joy this Easter! Alleluia!! ~ Father Vinnie
