Jesus, the Son of God and the awaited Messiah, was innocent but put to death anyway. He went to the cross, taking our sin and shame on his own shoulders, dying in our place. And on “Good Friday” we stop to mourn his death, saddened by his death and loss. And yet there are messages of hope in the midst of it all. People have rallied together in Belgium and throughout the world, giving comfort, care, and love to those affected by this tragedy. One of the messages that started popping up on social media was this: “Ik ben veilig.” “Je suis en sécurité.” The meaning, in Flemish and French, is the same: “I am safe.” It was a message of hope sent to those who were fearful. Everything is ok; I am safe. Family and friends mourned the death of Ralph but celebrated his life and legacy, sharing stories of how he had touched their lives. I believe that Ralph would say to us, “I am safe.” I am with God, basking in his presence. And we, too, can say “Ik ben veilig.” “Je suis en sécurité.” “Estoy seguro.” “I am safe.” Because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, we can have hope. Deepest Sympathy to The Arnold Family

Our Dear Brother, Ralph Arnold, passed away on Monday, March 21st.

His brother, Roy, passed away on Sunday, March 20th.

Please keep his wife, Beverly, his two sons, Greg and Brad and the entire Arnold family

in your prayers.

This has been a difficult week filled with loss, tragedy,

grief, and death. On Tuesday morning we awoke to news that

terrorist attacks had once again brought tragedy to Europe,

leading to the deaths of 31 individuals. We watched the

updates as more information came forth about what

Once again we were struck with the pain that comes with

have been blessed to know him, and we deeply feel a sense of

loss at his passing.

Others of us have lost friends and family members to death

this week, leaving us filled with grief and loss.

This has, indeed, been a difficult week. A week filled with

sadness, pain, and grief. And those emotions are more than

appropriate as we stop to commemorate the death of Jesus, the

innocent but put to death anyway. He went to the cross, taking

our sin and shame on his own shoulders, dying in our place.

by his death and loss.

And yet there are messages of hope in the midst of it all.

touched their lives. I believe that Ralph would say to us, “I am
